JK Rowling’s Fantastic Beasts Sequel Gets Release Date

The second film in J.K. Rowling's Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them trilogy has been given a release date: November 16, 2018.

According to Deadline, the film will see Potter series veteran David Yates returning to direct, with Rowling, David Heyman, Steve Kloves and Lionel Wigram also returning as producers.

The script - which Rowling has reportedly already written  - will apparently focus on an "increasingly dark time for the wizarding world, where Newt and other heroes have to decide on their allegiances."

Grow Up Might Look Like More of the Same – It Isn’t

“Wheeee!” “Errrrk!” “Ahhhh!”

These are some of the noises elicited by Grow Home, last year’s Ubisoft Reflections’ side project-turned-acclaimed wobbly heart-melter. One noise you’re unlikely to have made is “I am deeply happy to have efficiently and quickly reached the end of this starry adventure and will now return to the drab vicissitudes of life”.

Grow Home was a game technically about Pixar-y robot, BUD, climbing an alien beanstalk to get back to your spaceship mum - but it was about making death-defying climbs up impossibly steep cliff faces to reach an island that looked like it had a nice mushroom on it. Or rodeo-ing a space-vine to place you above a donut-shaped island and BASE jumping through its island-y guts to find a secret cave. Or kicking a sheep from 10,000 feet above sea level into that self-same sea. The fun was in spending time not getting to the end.

Hidden Agendas and Improved AI in Civilization 6

The intention was for Gandhi to be peaceful to a fault. That the famous Indian leader would be near impossible to anger, to reflect his famous passive resistance philosophy. In Civilization, hostility was handled on a ten point scale, and to reflect Gandhi's pacifism his hostility would hover at around one or two on the scale.

The problem for Civilization players was, however, that if they caused global hostility to reduce all at once, Gandhi's hostility would drop below the lowest measure on the scale. And because the game didn't handle negative integers, Gandhi's hostility rating wrapped around to the other end of the scale - and it didn't land on back on 10. It wrapped around and made its way to 255, and Nuclear Gandhi was born.

Fake Band’s Video Shows Footage From New Hitman Episode

Hitman’s next location, Thailand, has been premiered in a fake band’s music video.

The fake band in question is known as The Class, and the video for their actually real single Are We Stars (from a forthcoming possibly real or possibly fake EP, Providence), can be seen below, and contains hazy glimpses of the locations we'll soon be murdering our way through.

Interestingly, the lead singer of the band is apparently one Jordan Cross, whose name you may have heard uttered by some of the game’s NPCs in previous episodes. Could we be hearing our next target?

Final Fantasy 15 Is Getting a Season Pass

Surprise! Final Fantasy XV is getting a season pass.

As reported by Gematsu, the Japanese version of the pass will feature the following six pieces of DLC:

  • Booster Pack DLC #1
  • Episode Gladiolus DLC #2
  • Holiday Pack DLC #3
  • Episode Ignis DLC #4
  • Episode Prompto DLC #5
  • Expansion Pack DLC #6

As for what each of the packs will be remains to be seen. Currently, the Japanese season pass costs 2,700 yen, which is around $30 / £20. Again, we don’t know non-yen pricing, but we’ve reached out to Square Enix and will update should we hear back.

In the US, the season pass comes bundled with the Digital Deluxe edition for $85. There’s also an offer for anyone who pre-orders Final Fantasy XV to purchase a season pass upgrade.

Standalone ARK Spin-Off Isn’t Standalone Anymore

ARK: Survival of the Fittest, formerly a free standalone game, will now be brought back to be part of the main ARK: Survival Evolved game.

In a post on Steam this week, the developer did make clear that players who have played the game so far will continue to be able to do so without having to own ARK: Survival Evolved.

Going forward however, you will have to own the main game in order to play the additional content.

One of the reasons behind this is the release of the game's Development Kit. The kit allows modders to take content from Survival Evolved and create new content for Survival of the Fittest, which raises problems when it comes to licensing.

Overwatch Has More Seasonal Events on the Way

The Summer Games event is the first seasonal event for Overwatch, but it won't be the last.

"This is our very first seasonal event in Overwatch," said Blizzard in a press release, "but there are more on the horizon. We're not quite ready to reveal our plans, but you can expect to see more festive Loot Box items, maps, and modes in the future." As soon as specifics are, IGN will let you know.

Yesterday saw the release of the Olympics-themed Summer Games event, which adds new cosmetic items as well as a new Lúcioball game type and arena. The event will run until August 22.
