NES Classic to Feature Pixel Perfect Mode, Permanent Saves
New details on the NES Classic Edition have been revealed, confirming Nintendo's adorable mini console will feature several different display options, as well as permanent save points.
In an interview with La Terrasse ÉNERGIE (translation via Nintendo Everything and LuigiBlood), Nintendo of Canada communications manager Julie Gagnon said the NES Classic Edition will not only include a pixel perfect option that displays each pixel as a square, but also a mode simulating the retro look from a CRT television and an option to display the games in a 4:3 aspect ratio.
Who Killed Robin? Suicide Squad Adds Another Wrinkle
Batman's sidekick Robin is dead by the time the DC Expanded Universe kicks off, but who killed him? It turns out there's more to the story than fans inferred from Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.
Spoilers for Suicide Squad and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice continue below.
The death of Robin clearly left an impact on Batman. In Batman v Superman, viewers see that Bruce Wayne still displays Robin's superhero outfit in his batcave. On it are the spray painted words, "Hahaha joke's on you Batman." The implication is clear: the Joker, one of Batman's greatest archenemies, murdered his sidekick. As director Zack Snyder told IGN, he imagined Robin had died during a run-in with a "young Joker," and that set up a "fun backstory to play with." In Suicide Squad, we learn there's more to the story.
Suicide Squad Breaks Guardians’ Debut Record
Despite negative reception from critics, Suicide Squad had an incredibly successful debut at the box office this weekend, breaking Guardians of the Galaxy's August record with $135.1 million.
Warner Bros.' new comic book film soared far past Guardians of the Galaxy's $94.3 million figure after breaking August's Thursday preview night record. In addition, Variety notes that Suicide Squad now serves as the biggest film of Will Smith's career, eclipsing the $77.2 million debut of I Am Legend nine years ago.

Tabletop gaming is about to get a little more hellish thanks to Fantasy Flight Games' new board game adaptation of Doom.
The game has "two operations of six missions" to battle through, according to its creators. It also has some really sweet miniatures (unpainted!) that look like they took Bethesda's game and plugged it directly into a 3D printer.

5 Crazy Pokemon Go Stories
Pokemon Go has been out for over a month now, and still the Niantic Labs-developed app continues to impact not just the mobile gaming market but the culture at large. The game's first few weeks of release have led to boosted sales performances for some businesses, the accidental discovery of multiple dead bodies, and a continued search for how and when legendary Pokemon will actually appear in the game.
And though Niantic's updates to the app, removing some features while promising the return of others, as well as the alleged appearance of previously unseen Pokemon like Articuno have dominated the conversation around the game this week, the app has had continued effects outside of the game itself. (And for more on all things Pokemon, check out the latest episode of IGN's new Pokemon show, Secret Base.)
