DC Comics TV Series Powerless Loses Its Showrunner
Powerless has lost its showrunner, as series creator and executive producer Ben Queen is departing NBC's new DC Comics-inspired television series.
According to Deadline, the production start date -- which was originally two weeks from now -- has been delayed in favor of first finding a new showrunner to take Queen's place. Despite the setback, the midseason series' debut won't be affected as the network irons out its scheduling plans.
The departure of Queen was said to be a "mutual decision" that he, the network and Warner Bros. TV agreed upon in light of creative differences. Queen, who also created A to Z for WBTV, will remain employed at the studio as part of his overarching deal.
Leto Reportedly Feels He Was ‘Tricked’ Into Suicide Squad
Suicide Squad star Jared Leto feels as though he was "tricked" into taking on the role of Joker in Warner Bros.' new comic book film, according to a recent report.
The actor, who's also the lead singer of Thirty Seconds to Mars, shared a few thoughts on his role during a Q&A session at Camp Mars—an event Leto posted about on both Instagram and Twitter. According to a summary provided by a Leto fansite on Tumblr (via Batman-News), Leto is said to have felt "sort of tricked into being a part of something that had been pitched to him very differently."
Power Rangers Reveals New Rita Repulsa Image
A recently released image from the Power Rangers movie has given us a fresh look at Elizabeth Banks' Rita Repulsa.
Posted on the film's official Instagram page, the picture shows the villain standing behind a cracked, glass-like wall. The circumstances behind the image, however, are unknown. See it for yourself below:
According to Banks, the new movie's take on the villain is "definitely a modern and edgy re-imagining of the original." Banks calls her character "unpredictable," and says her re-imagined backstory "connects her to the new Rangers."

NEW GAME RELEASES
ReCore’s Robot Buds Are Not Duds
Leading into E3 2016, we had so many questions about ReCore. Now, after the expo last June and leading into Gamescom, we finally have a few answers. To quickly recap: ReCore is an action-based platforming game with tight jumps and blazingly-fast shootouts that’s coming to Xbox One and PC. It is made by a talent pool of successful game makers: the diverse development team include talent from Halo (Joe Staten), Mega Man (Keiji Inafune), and Metroid Prime (Armature Studios).
In it, you play as Joule, a colonist, talented technician, and athletic heroine that builds robot buddies to help her in combat. Players are rewarded with experience points and resources based on how you choose to eliminate enemies.
Where Team Arrow Stands When Season 5 Begins
Arrow: Season 5 is going to be exploring the theme of legacy and what happens when the past comes back to haunt you. For Oliver Queen, that means wanting to have a solid team of heroes ready to protect Star City, especially now that he's mayor and Team Arrow as we know it has disbanded.
deals with legacy, it deals with the past, and the dramatic irony, the dramatic tension, that we get from it is Oliver's always been a guy -- admittedly, not the most self aware dude ever -- but he's always been someone who is trying to move forward. He's always trying to evolve," executive producer Marc Guggenheim told IGN. "The challenge for Oliver this year is how do you evolve and move forward when the past keeps grabbing at you, trying to pull you back."
Star Wars Battlefront VR Mission Is Rogue One Themed
EA and Criterion Games announced that the upcoming Star Wars Battlefront VR Mission will be Rogue One: A Star Wars Story themed.
Criterion producer Pete Lake confirmed the Rogue One connection during EA's Gamescom 2016 livestream, but did not elaborate on how exactly it will play into the upcoming Star Wars film.
"We've been working really closely with Lucasfilm to make this the perfect tie in to this new movie," Lake said.
Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare Zombies Mode Revealed
Activision revealed the new zombies mode for Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, Zombies in Spaceland, during Gamescom 2016.
The latest take on the franchise's co-op Zombies mode puts players in the shoes of four aspiring actors, all of whom have come to a movie theater for an audition via invitation by director Willard Wyler (voiced by Pee-wee Herman actor Paul Reubens).
The four find themselves transformed into 80s archetypes — the jock, the nerd, the valley girl, and the rapper — as they are zapped into Wyler's movie, set in the 1980s, where they must face off against waves of zombies in an 80s space-themed amusement park.
The voice actors behind the four playable characters include Robot Chicken's Seth Green, Suicide Squad's Ike Barinholtz, Saturday Night Live's Sasheer Zamata, and SNL alum Jay Pharoah. Baywatch's David Hasselhoff has also lent his voice to the game as the theme park's DJ.
Why the DCEU Is In Real Trouble
First it was Suicide Squad. Now it's Wonder Woman. Fans keep looking to the next film on the DC Extended Universe release schedule to be the project that will mark the shift toward the DC movies they want to see, but a sad truth is emerging: one great film and multiple weak ones does not a great franchise make. No single superhero film is going to be able to swoop in at the last minute and save the day for this franchise. There need to be multiple great films to really mark a change for the series.
That's not to say the tides can't turn for the DCEU; Warner Bros. already changed things behind-the-scenes in the hopes of creating films that are more in line with what consumers want to see. But it's not going to just be Wonder Woman, or just be Justice League, or just be The Flash. At this point, one critically acclaimed project that exceeds fan expectations will be the exception, not the rule for the DCEU.
5 Reasons We’re Excited for Titanfall 2 Multiplayer
We recently got to spend a ton of time playing the Titanfall 2 multiplayer technical test that will be coming soon. It’s a snapshot of what the full multiplayer experience is shaping up to be, and from everything we saw, and played, and killed with a big robot, I’m incredibly excited for more.
You can find a whole bunch of footage below, but before you watch it all, here are my five quick takeaways why we’re excited for Titanfall 2 multiplayer.
The original Titanfall’s multiplayer was a lot of fun, but it was also so chaotic it could be exhausting after long sessions. This time around, Respawn Entertainment wants players to feel like they’re anticipating what’s going to happen, instead of just reacting to the chaos all around. For starters, titans are class-based with set abilities so when you see one you know at a glance what it can do. And now the minimap won’t show the exact point you fire from, so if you're shooting an AI you don't just get wiped out the moment after you do it.
