Booster Gold Movie Not Connected to Other DC Films

Greg Berlanti's Booster Gold movie won't actually be part of the DC Extended Universe, according to DC's TV universe mastermind himself.

"As of right now we have no connective tissue to those worlds," Berlanti told Vulture. "It'd be a separate thing." The DC Extended Universe currently includes the likes of Man of Steel, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and Suicide Squad. Justice League and Wonder Woman will arrive in 2017, but it sounds like Booster Gold won't be a reprieve from the darker DC Extended Universe.

Booster Gold first appeared in 1986, and many saw the superhero as a potential bright spot in the DC Extended Universe. He gains his powers by stealing equipment from the future, and bringing it back to the present to market himself as an advanced superhero.

DC Rebirth: 6 More Burning Questions We Have

The DC Rebirth relaunch is now several months old. As new books make their debut and familiar characters receive major overhauls, more burning questions have arisen about the course of the DC Universe.

Building on our previous feature about DC Rebirth mysteries, here are six more burning questions we have about heroes like Batman, Harley Quinn and the Flash.

Warning: beware of spoilers for recent DC Rebirth comics!

Suicide_Squad_War_Crimes_01With DC Universe Rebirth #1, Geoff Johns established that the New 52 isn't a separate reality from the classic DC Universe, but merely a distorted version of the DCU created by Doctor Manhattan's meddling. Going forward from that issue, many DC titles have started to call back to the old DCU in various ways. Green Arrow and Black Canary are partners again. The classic Birds of Prey have been reunited for the first time. Flash has a Kid Flash again. DC's heroes haven't regained those missing 10 years Doctor Manhattan took from them, but they're beginning to rediscover those crucial relationships that were lost.

The Crow Reboot to Begin Production This January

Production on The Crow reboot will reportedly kick off in January, with Game of Thrones and Aquaman's Jason Momoa in the lead role.

As The Wrap reports, Momoa was previously rumored for the role, but has since all-but-confirmed his casting by posting a photo on Instagram alongside director Corin Hardy with the hashtags "sealthedeal" and "dreamjob."

The film was set to enter production in 2015, but was suspended following production company Relativity Media's filing for bankruptcy — from which it later emerged. Compared to the original 1994 adaptation, it's expected to be more faithful to James O'Barr's graphic novel.
