Street Fighter V Patch Adds Potentially Dangerous Files for PC Players

The September update that rolled out today for Street Fighter V had some unexpected surprises for PC players.

Reddit users discovered the patch planted a "Capcom.sys" file in the System32 folder. A kernel-level implant like this opens up backdoors within your machine, which could potentially allow any outside user to access and remotely control your machine.

Those who updated to the new patch were reporting the application acquiring elevated privileges, and even a few blue screens of death. The September update was anticipated, adding returning fighter Urien and several long-awaited features to the popular fighting game.

Untold Stories Pose a Major Threat to Once Upon a Time

Hyde (Sam Witwer) is bringing the Land of Untold Stories into Storybrooke in this clip from Once Upon a Time's Season 6 premiere, and there's nothing the Savior, the Evil Queen or any of the storybook heroes can do to stop him.

Check out the clip from Sunday's episode below:

The Season 6 premiere picks up in the immediate aftermath of last year's cliffhanger finale, with Emma, Regina, Snow and the rest of the gang facing off against the villainous Mr. Hyde. The people coming into the town from the Land of Untold Stories will be characters who decided to leave their own storylines so as not to follow a pre-determined fate. Is the Time Travel on Timeless Believable?

Just how scientifically possible is time travel? That's the question Caltech theoretical physicist Sean Carroll seeks to explore in this new promo for NBC's upcoming drama Timeless, debuting exclusively on IGN.

In the below video, star Abigail Spencer questions out loud whether we're really so far away from coming up with a method to travel through time -- something Carroll seeks to further explore.

"Einstein comes along and says that space and time are flexible, that they can curve," said Carroll. "We can imagine that's really conceivable according to the laws of physics that we currently understand. We don't know how to do it, but a show like Timeless can ask the 'what if' question, 'What if we had actually built a time machine?'"

Vincent D’Onofrio on Magnificent 7, Death Wish Remakes

I chatted with actor Vincent D'Onofrio (Full Metal Jacket, Kingpin on Marvel's Daredevil) earlier this week about his current film, The Magnificent Seven. D'Onofrio plays burly, lethal mountain man Jack Horne in the Antoine Fuqua-directed remake of the 1960 western.

But before we spoke about Magnificent Seven, I had to tell him how he once unintentionally helped catch a criminal ...

IGN: First of all, on a personal note, years ago, I was able to identify the guy who mugged me because as he's mugging me, pulling a knife on me, I was like, wow, he looks just like Vincent D'Onofrio in Full Metal Jacket. And of course, I'm at the station two hours later and ended up talking to the cop about Full Metal Jacket for about 20 twenty minutes.
