Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children Tops Box Office
Despite a mediocre opening weekend, Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children placed first at the box office, earning $28.5 million.
As noted by Variety, Tim Burton's new fantasy film is off to a slow start domestically, but is showing promise in international markets, having currently made $36.5 million oversees.
The film still has a ways to go if it's to reach profitability for 20th Century Fox, thanks to a production budget of $110 million.
As of right now, the studio remains unsure as to whether or not Miss Peregrine's will get a sequel. "It’s a promising start, but it’s too early to tell," Fox domestic distribution chief Chris Aronson said, adding, "There are multiple books and they are best-sellers, so the door is open."
Archer Creator Plans to End Series With Season 10
Adam Reed, the writer and executive of Archer, says he plans to wrap up FX's popular animated series with Season 10.
"The plan is to end Archer after Season 10," Reed said on a recent episode of the Modern School of Film’s Murmur podcast (via HitFix), noting that he was initially going to conclude the series with Season 8, but "had sort of a brain explosion of a way that I could do three more seasons and really keep my interest up."
Reed went on to reaffirm that the final three seasons will be a bit shorter, with each spanning just eight episodes. He also said Seasons 8 through 10 will not only be "pretty different" than the previous seven, but also "different from each other."

The Top 25 Smallville Episodes
Considering it's been off the air since 2011, October is a surprisingly busy month for Smallville. On October 1st, the entire series was released on Hulu, marking the first time Smallville was ever available to stream in the US. And on October 16th, Smallville celebrates its 15th anniversary, with the show beginning its 10-year, 217-episode run on that date in 2001.
With all that in mind, we're taking a look back at the 25 best episodes of the series and its depiction of a young Clark Kent (Tom Welling) going from a freshman in high school to finally taking on the mantle of Superman. Smallville evolved a lot over the decade it was on the air -- and went from the WB to the CW -- as Clark graduated, made new friends and began to encounter many more superheroes and villains.

Jurassic World 2: No Militarized Dinosaurs
Jurassic World director Colin Trevorrow has come forward to shed light on the upcoming sequel, which he say swill be "more suspenseful and scary" than the original.
Thanks to his involvement in Star Wars: Episode IX, Trevorrow isn't directing Jurassic World 2. Instead, horror director Juan Antonio Bayona is helming the film, and according to Trevorrow, he's the perfect fit for the film's darker story. "It will be more suspenseful and scary," Trevorrow told Jurassic Outpost. "I knew I wanted Bayona to direct it long before anyone ever heard that was a possibility, so the whole thing was just built around his skill set."

The Top 10 Scrubs Episodes
It's a big anniversary for Scrubs this weekend, with October 2nd marking 15 years since we first met the men and women of Sacred Heart. The impressively durable series -- it ran for nine years on two different networks (including that weird pseudo-spinoff Season 9) -- helped usher in a new era for network TV comedy, with its then-rare use of a single camera format and more multilayered storylines. With that in mind, we're taking an updated look at the Top 10 episodes of the series.
The best episodes of Scrubs are those that have plenty of goofy humor, an imaginative daydream sequence or three and a stomach punch at the end to remind viewers the show still takes place at a hospital... where people occasionally die. So without further ado, here are the Top 10 episodes of Scrubs.
