Capaldi Introduces Doctor Who’s New Companion

New York Comic Con has expanded to a new venue this year, The Theater at Madison Square Garden, and what more appropriately sci-fi way to open the venue as a NYCC destination than with a series of panels including long-running British series Doctor Who as well as the new Doctor Who spinoff, Class. Both those shows air here in the States on BBC America and consequently were teamed with the networks new show, Dirk Gentlys Holistic Detective Agency (which we will cover in a separate piece).

It was Class that started off the Whovian portion of the panels.

The series focuses on a group of students at Coal Hill Academy (yes, that Coal Hill), and the four actors—Greg Austin (Charlie), Vivian Oparah (Tanya), Sophie Hopkins (April), and Fady Elsayed (Ram)—were all present for the panel. As they are students, the actors are a relatively young group (who apparently played Pokémon Go while on set), and in fact, it was noted that this is Oparahs first job.

6 Things Wolverine 3 Should Pull From ‘Old Man Logan’

If you haven't heard, Wolverine is starring in another solo movie in March 2017. Simply titled Logan, this new movie will see Hugh Jackman unleash his claws for the final time. And between the title and the fact that the movie features an older, grizzled version of the popular X-Man, all signs point to Logan adapting Mark Millar and Steve McNiven's popular comic book storyline Old Man Logan. This wouldn't be the first time the X-Men films draw heavily from the comic book source material.

But what makes Old Man Logan so special, and how might it influence the third Wolverine movie? Here are six story elements we hope to see adapted in Logan.

5034988-746178-0.838101001213626473image_big In recent years, studios have begun showing us just how much potential there is with the superhero genre. There have been superhero political thrillers (Captain America: The Winter Soldier), superhero sci-fi adventures (Guardians of the Galaxy) and raunchy superhero comedies (Deadpool). With Logan, Fox now has the chance to deliver the first superhero Western. Well, the first one worth watching, anyway (sorry, Jonah Hex). Old Man Logan is very much a Western, with sweeping shots of the sun-baked vistas and Wolverine being cut from the same cloth as John Wayne or Clint Eastwood's cowboy heroes. The comic is actually very similar to Eastwood's 1992 classic Unforgiven, right down to the fact that the story revolves around Logan reluctantly carrying out a mission and leaving his family to tend to the farm in his absence.

Milla Jovovich Promises an End to Alice’s Story in Resident Evil: The Final Chapter

Resident Evil: The Final Chapter hit New York Comic-Con today, with Milla Jovovich, Ali Larter, Eoin Macken, William Levy, and director Paul W.S. Anderson avoiding the T-Virus to talk about what they say will be the last entry in the series.

In The Final Chapter, Alice returns to where it all began, heading back to The Hive in Raccoon City to battle the Umbrella Corporation for one last conflict. A new trailer for the film was shown during the panel today, which just went online. Watch it here:

After the trailer, Anderson said the plan with this film is to tie up all the loose ends of the movie franchise. “It’s a return to the very beginning of the franchise, Raccoon City, or what’s left of it after we dropped a bomb on it in the second film,” he said. “It’s a return to The Hive for Alice, where it all started, and this is where we find out the truth about

Gears of War Movie Still in ‘Early Days of Exploration’

The Gears of War movie concept is still being defined, according to the film's producer Dylan Clark, when asked if it would be a new story or a straight adaptation.

Speaking to IGN today during New York Comic Con, "We're in the early days of exploration," Clark said, "but this relaunch of the new game is very exciting."

"Rod

is an amazing talent and there's so much narrative to that game, so that one lended itself to adaptation. So it was very easy. My partner, Scott Stuber, has been a Gears fanatic for so long."

"We had this great meeting where we could do a lot of different things," Clark said. "I don't want to give away too much. No spoilers."

In case you missed the news, The Coalition studio head Rod Fergusson confirmed the Gears of War movie is in the works with Universal during this week's Gears of War 4 launch live stream.
