New Movie Franchise Coming from Deadpool Creator
Deadpool creator Rob Liefeld is partnering with Shangai-based Fundamental Films to develop an Extreme Universe movie franchise.
Extreme Universe consists of several comics published by Liefeld's Extreme Studios that are all set in a single universe. There are a total of nine comic book titles that include characters such as Bloodwulf, Kaboom, Bloodstrike, Brigade, Lethal, Re-Gex, Nitro-Gen, and Cybrid. They're all written in a similar subversive style as Deadpool, the character that Ryan Reynolds' and Fox turned into the highest-grossing R-rated movie ever.
The Wrap reports that Liefeld, who's also credited with creating Marvel's Cable and X-Force, will produce the films along with Brooklyn Weaver (Extant, Run All Night), Graham King (Allied, Tomb Raider), and Akiva Goldsman (The Dark Tower), with Goldsman in charge of the scripts and writers room for the entire franchise.
Overwatch Gets a New Control Map
Oasis is the newest control map in Overwatch.
Available now on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, the Overwatch arena sees players battling it out in an advanced city set in the Arabian desert. There are three different control points to defend on Oasis, along with traffic to avoid and jump pads to use.
Blizzard Entertainment also offered an official synopsis for Oasis:
"Researchers and academics from around the region came together to found a city dedicated to scientific progress without restraints — a monument to human ingenuity and invention. The city and its inhabitants are governed by the Ministries, a collection of brilliant minds who possess many secrets that have attracted the interest of powerful organizations from around the world."

Game of Thrones’ ‘Size and Scale’ Is Increasing in Season 7
Game of Thrones: Season 7 has a shorter episode order than any of its previous seasons, but it's all for good reason. Even though Season 7 will be seven episodes instead of the typical 10, the series will be taking the same amount of production time on this season as earlier years. In simpler terms: more time is going to be spent making each episode in Season 7 to result in even bigger and more epic episodes.
"I think the scale and size of the set pieces, the world that is being created it’s just getting more and more extraordinary and they feel they need that time to shoot seven hours as opposed to 10," actor Iain Glen, who plays Jorah Mormont, told Radio Times.
Persona 5, Yakuza 0 Not Coming to Nintendo Switch or PC
While SEGA and Atlus have plans to support Nintendo Switch, Persona 5 and Yakuza 0 will remain exclusive to PlayStation platforms.
In a post on Twitter, Atlus USA and SEGA of America PR manager John Hardin confirmed that Persona 5 and Yakuza 0 won't be ported to Nintendo Switch or PC. "Persona 5 platforms: PS3, PS4. Yakuza 0 platforms: PS4. THAT'S. IT. No Switch. No PC," he said.
Following Nintendo's announcement of Switch, both SEGA and Atlus confirmed plans to support the console. Last year, SEGA announced that an "epic" title from Sonic Colors and Generations team is headed to the platform in 2017.
Michael Keaton on Turning Down Batman Forever: ‘It Sucked’
Oscar-nominated actor Michael Keaton had a simple reason for saying no to Batman Forever.
"It sucked," he told The Hollywood Reporter after seeing the script. After portraying the Caped Crusader in Batman and Batman Returns, both directed by Tim Burton, he voted against returning for Batman Forever, helmed by Joel Schumacher.
"I knew it was in trouble," Keaton said, "when
said, 'Why does everything have to be so dark?'"
With Keaton passing on Batman Forever, Val Kilmer donned the mask and cape. And then George Clooney became Bruce Wayne with Batman & Robin for Schumacher, before the franchise was rebooted by Christopher Nolan and Christian Bale with the Dark Knight trilogy.
