Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Release Date Announced
During a Nintendo Direct today, Nintendo announced that Xenoblade Chronicles 2 will launch on Switch in the West on December 1.
At launch, Nintendo will also release a Xenoblade Chronicles-themed Nintendo Switch Pro Controller.
Xenoblade Chronicles 2 follows a protagonist named Rex as he searches for a world called Elysium. It was first announced during Nintendo’s Switch reveal event in January, but Nintendo previously only said it was coming out this holiday season.
Mario Party: The Top 100 Announced for 3DS
During a Nintendo Direct today, Nintendo revealed Mario Party: The Top 100, a new mini game collection that will be released for 3DS on November 10.
The Top 100 includes 100 mini games selected from every previous home console Mario Party game.
Mario Party: The Top 100 will include download play, allowing up to four people to play from multiple 3DS systems using only one cartridge.
Mario Party originally launched in 1999 in the West with the original Mario Party on Nintendo 64. The most recent main installment was Mario Party 10 for Wii U in 2015, and the most recent 3DS game was Mario Party: Star Rush, which came out late last year.
Minecraft Coming to New Nintendo 3DS, Out Today
During a Nintendo Direct today, Nintendo revealed Minecraft for New 3DS systems, and announced that it will be available digitally beginning today, with a packaged version coming to retail stores at a later date.
On New Nintendo 3DS, Minecraft offers Survival and Creative modes, plus five skin packs and two new texture packs and more.
The touch screen will be used for inventory, map, and crafting, and can be played with either touch or button controls.
This marks yet another partnership with Nintendo for Minecraft, which previously launched on Wii U and most recently on Nintendo Switch. Telltale’s episodic series Minecraft Story Mode also came to Switch last month.
Pokemon-Themed New 2DS XL Console Announced
During a Nintendo Direct today, Nintendo revealed a new Pokemon-themed 2DS XL system.
The system is red and white and made to look like a Poke Ball and will be in stores on November 3.
This is the newest design for the 2DS XL, a new version of the system that Nintendo announced in April before it was released in July.
The Poke Ball design will be released just in time for Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, which will launch on November 17.
Fan Made Super Mario 64 Brings Online Play
Thanks to a Super Mario 64 fan mod, up to 24 people can now play Nintendo's beloved 3D platformer together online.
The project, which was created as a collaboration between Kaze Emanuar, Melonspeedruns and Marshivolt, allows players to select from a number of iconic characters, including Mario, Wario, Peach, Yoshi, Waluigi, and more. To see Super Mario 64 Online in action, check out the video below:
Kaze Emanuar has created a tutorial for those interested in downloading and playing the fan project themselves.

Batman Gets a Crazy New Sidekick
Things just got crazier in the latest chapter of Dark Nights: Metal.
Warning: this article contains spoilers for Dark Nights: Metal #2!
This issue pitted Batman against the Justice League, with the Caped Crusader racing against the clock to stop the arrival of Barbatos while his teammates hunted his decoys. One particularly shocking moment came as Superman seemingly murdered Batman the same way he did Joker in the Injustice: Gods Among Us universe.
Marvel’s Cloak & Dagger, Shadowhunters, and More Head to NYCC
Freeform (formerly ABC Family) announced today three hours of panels and screenings with cast and executive producers from shows including Shadowhunters, Beyond, and new original drama, Siren, at New York Comic Con on Saturday, October 7th.
Fans can look forward to seeing exclusive new footage from Shadowhunters: Season 2 and Beyond: Season 2 during back-to-back panels starting at 12:00pm at Madison Square Garden.
New original series Siren will present its first episode in its entirety to the crowd, followed by a Q&A with cast and executive producers starting at 4pm in Room 1A06.
Fans will also get a chance to experience all three shows, as well as the highly anticipated series, Marvel’s Cloak & Dagger, by visiting the Freeform activation zone located right across from the Javits Center. The Freeform activation center will be open Oct. 5-8 and located at the corner of 11th and 37th street.
First Look at David Harbour as Hellboy Revealed
Stranger Things' David Harbour has taken up the gauntlet, and a first look at the actor as Hellboy in the upcoming reboot has been revealed.
The official Hellboy Facebook account debuted the first photo of Harbour in full makeup and costume as Hellboy, as well as a black-and-white image of the actor on set and the film's new logo:
Look familiar? Harbour is the second actor to play Hellboy in live action in a major film, with Ron Perlman having previously taken up the mantle in Guillermo del Toro's two Hellboy films.

Lost star Daniel Dae Kim recently took over the role of Major Ben Daimio following Deadpool star Ed Skrein's announcement that he would leave the role. Skrein departed the project following controversy and upon the actor learning of the character being am Asian-American.
IT: The 11 Best Easter Eggs, Cameos and References
Stephen King's IT is currently terrifying audiences all over the world. The appeal of this new adaptation isn't just that Hollywood has done right by a Stephen King book (something that doesn't happen often enough), but that the film is also crammed with little details that pay homage to the complex source material. IT is packed with references to the novel, as well as a few nods to the 1990 miniseries and even other Stephen King stories.
