Harry Potter: Wizards Unite Won’t Affect Pokemon Go
Niantic confirmed the newly announced Harry Potter: Wizards Unite won't affect Pokemon Go development in any way.
The developer released a statement on its website today reassuring fans that, even though Niantic is excited to be working on Wizards Unite, Pokemon Go will still be receiving updates and improvements.
"W are 100% committed to creating an ever-changing and growing game," Niantic said.
Niantic promises more features will be added to Pokemon Go in 2018, with updates coming as soon as next week.
"We're actively expanding the Pokémon GO development team to build many more amazing features in 2018," Niantic said, promising an update on future improvements sometime next week.
Hasbro Bids to Purchase Mattel
Hasbro Inc. reportedly wants to purchase rival toy maker Mattel.
The Wall Street Journal reports Hasbro recently approached Mattel with a takeover offer, but no figures for the potential buy-out have been revealed. Mattel is worth about $5 billion, while Hasbro is worth around $11 billion.
Mattel's franchises include Masters of the Universe, Hot Wheels, and Barbie, among others. Hasbro's brands include Transformers, G. I. Joe, and Nerf, just to name a few.
Mattel has reportedly been struggling with poor sales. The company revealed in October it suffered a 14% drop in its third-quarter sales.

Louis C.K. Movie Release and Netflix Special Both Scrapped
Update: Louis C.K. will no longer be featured in the upcoming sequel to The Secret Life of Pets.
Universal Pictures and Illumination have decided to drop C.K. for The Secret Life of Pets 2, Variety reports. The actor voiced the first film's main character, a Jack Russell terrier named Max. The sequel will be released in theaters on June 7, 2019.
