Spider-Man: Far From Home Director Wants Kraven in Sequel

Saw: Samuel L. Jackson Joins Chris Rock’s Reboot

Comedian Chris Rock’s surprise reboot of the Saw horror franchise has just added Samuel L. Jackson (Spider-Man: Far From Home, Captain Marvel) to the cast.

Lionsgate confirmed to IGN that Samuel L. Jackson will join the upcoming Saw reboot as the father of Chris Rock’s character. Rock will star as a police detective investigating a series of crimes likely tied to the Jigsaw Killer. Joining Rock and Jackson are Max Minghella (The Handmaid’s Tale) and Marisol Nichols (Riverdale) who will play Rock's partner and the police captain, respectively.

Lionsgate and Twisted Pictures revealed the Saw reboot's development back in May when the companies announced that Chris Rock had a “fresh reimagining" for the next Saw movie. Rock is reportedly a fan of the Saw series and his ideas served as an influence for the upcoming reboot. Pete Goldfinger and Josh Stolberg are writing the screenplay, and Saw 2, Saw 3, and Saw 4 director Darren Lynn Bousman will return to the franchise to direct the upcoming Saw film.

The First 13 Minutes of Control – IGN First

Remedy Entertainment, purveyor of consistently excellent action games, is back. The creator of Max Payne, Alan Wake and Quantum Break returns on August 27 with Control, and we’ll be running an IGN First on the game all this month.

So let’s begin at the beginning, shall we? In the video above, you’ll get a look at the game’s opening sequence, introducing heroine Jesse Faden as she enters the mysterious Federal Bureau of Control for the first time, and quickly discovers that things have gone very wrong indeed. It’s a quiet, strange, beautiful intro, and one that introduces many of the game’s main characters.

Control director Mikael Kasurinen tells me that, in some ways, this feels like a culmination of all of Remedy’s work up until this point, and the cast lives up to that assertion.
