Friday the 13th: The Game Coming to Nintendo Switch This Spring

Friday the 13th: The Game is officially coming to Nintendo Switch this Spring, as reported by Variety.

The Switch announcement comes with the release of the Friday the 13th: The Game Ultimate Slasher Switch Edition.

The Switch edition will include all previously released content and DLC's, including the Jason Kill Pack, Counselor Clothing Packs, and the Emote Party Pack. However, the Kickstarter exclusive Savini Jason character and the exclusive clothing pack for backers will not be included.

"We’re happy to be bringing ‘Friday the 13th: The Game’ to the Nintendo Switch with the help of our partners at Black Tower and Nighthawk," Director of Communications at Gun Media, Daniel Nixon told Variety. "The Nintendo Switch offers a unique experience, in both social settings and on the go, that we feel work very well with ‘Friday the 13th: The Game.'"

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate director Masahiro Sakurai has revealed the physical impact of creating the latest game in Nintendo’s signature fighting franchise.

Update: Critical Role Kickstarter Passes $4 Million

Update 3/5 9:00 a.m. PT: Critical Role's Kickstarter campaign hit another milestone overnight in its fundraising, with more than $4 million raised so far.

As of press time, The Legend of Vox Machina animated special has now raised over $4.26 million and continues to climb.

Matthew Mercer, DM of Critical Role, teased yesterday that the team is working on coming up with more stretch goals and, with the length of the animated special, they may need to make some alternate plans.

Why IDW Is Rebooting the Transformers Franchise

The Transformers comic book universe as you know it is gone. Last year's Transformers: Unicron didn't just bring an end to a 13-year saga of Transformers comics at IDW Publishing, it also marked the end of the entire Hasbro Comic Book Universe. But that doesn't mean IDW is finished with this license.

Instead, the company is using 2019 to reboot Transformers and start fresh. Their newest series, simply titled Transformers, reboots continuity from square one and travels back all the way to the beginning of the rivalry between Optimus Prime and Megatron.

We had an opportunity to interview both IDW Editor-in-Chief John Barber and Hasbro's VP of Global Publishing Michael Kelly to learn more about the new series and why starting from scratch was the right move for this long-running franchise. They also shed light on a brand new character that is a franchise-first and some unexpected ways in which the new series is exploring the humanity behind the Robots in Disguise.
