Lily Collins Cast in J.R.R. Tolkien Biopic

Movies based on the works of J.R.R. Tolkien have proven so popular the time has come for them to make a biopic about the man himself. On that front, Lily Collins has been cast as Edith Bratt, who would eventually become Edith Tolkien. It was Edith who served as the inspiration for Tolkien's elven princesses, Lúthien Tinúviel and Arwen Evenstar from Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings saga.

Collins is probably best known for playing Snow White in the film Mirror, Mirror but she has also appeared in Okja, as well as the Amazon series The Last Tycoon, among others. Now she gets her chance to play a real, if largely unknown, person.

Simpsons Composer Alf Clausen Axed After 27 Years

A longtime staple of The Simpsons will no longer be a part of the show going forward. Composer Alf Clausen has been fired after providing music for the iconic sitcom for 27 years, reports Variety.

Now, Clausen may not be as big of a name as, say, the cast of the show, but his impact has been felt on the show for decades. Clausen composed the score for over 560 episodes, making his music a crucial part of the fabric of The Simpsons. For his efforts, Clausen has been nominated for 21 Emmys, including two wins (1997 and 1998). Overall, he has 30 Emmy nominations, which reportedly makes him the most-nominated composer in television history. On top of that, he has won five Annie Awards for his Simpsons work.
