FLCL 2 and 3 First Look, Release Window Announced

Anime studio Production I.G. and Adult Swim announced the first information for the upcoming FLCL 2 and 3 at Anime Expo 2017, including the anime's first trailer.

Production I.G's Maki Terashima-Furuta led the panel with Toonami's Jason DeMarco, and they revealed that the sequel seasons (each spanning six episodes) will begin airing in 2018. DeMarco also confirmed that Japanese rock band The Pillows is back for both FLCL 2 and 3 with all new music. The trailer below features one of those songs.

Adult Swim and Production I.G. first announced FLCL 2 and 3 last year. FLCL originally aired in 2000, and later aired on Toonami in 2003. The original starred Naoto Nandaba, a young boy whose life is turned upside down when Haruko Haruhara hits him with her iconic yellow Vespa.

Crunchyroll Announces New Anime and Manga Additions

During its panel today at Anime Expo, Crunchyroll announced several new titles that are coming to the anime streaming service this summer and fall.

Crunchyroll's summer anime lineup includes Restaurant to Another World, Saiyuki Reload Blast, A Centaur's Life, Classroom of the Elite, and Knights & Magic. The first episode of Knights & Magic is available for premium subscribers right now.

The company also announced that PARK: Harajuku Crisis Team! and the new anime adaptation of Kino's Journey -the Beautiful World- will debut on the service this fall.

Funimation Announces Its Summer Simuldub Lineup

During its panel at Anime Expo 2017, Funimation announced its lineup of simuldub titles for the summer season.

In a pair of posts on Twitter, Funimation relayed its simuldub lineup, which includes 18if, A Centaur's Life, Classroom of the Elite, Restaurant to Another World, Hina Logic: From Luck & Logic, Knight's & Magic and Saiyuki Reload Blast.

Additionally, the company will stream the dub of Lupin III: Part IV on FunimationNow starting today, July 2 at 1pm PT/4pm ET. New episodes will follow on the same day and time each week thereafter.

Your Name Coming to Blu-ray and DVD This Year

Your Name will release on home video later this year, Funimation announced today an Anime Expo.

The popular anime film from director Makoto Shinkai will be released by Funimation on home video just a few months after it launches in Japan, and will include the "final" version of the movie, which has edits to the theatrical release that were made under the director's guidance.

Standard Editions, including a DVD-only option and a Blu-ray/DVD combo pack, will be available, as well as a Special Edition that includes the Blu-ray and DVD, as well as exclusive artwork and materials from the Japanese release. Funimation will provide further details about the home release of Your Name at a later date.

A Silent Voice Coming to U.S. Theaters in October

A Silent Voice will be released in U.S. theaters this October, Eleven Arts announced during its panel today at Anime Expo.

As reported by Anime News Network, Eleven Arts will also screen the anime film Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha Reflection in the United States in October. The company also announced that those attending Anime Expo can catch a screening of A Silent Voice this coming Monday, July 3 at 4pm PT.

Fullmetal Alchemist Manga Hardcover Edition Announced

The Fullmetal Alchemist manga will return next year with a collector's edition hardcover release, Viz Media announced today at Anime Expo.

Titled Fullmetal Alchemist: Fullmetal Edition, this remastered work, featuring new lettering, an updated translation and all the original color pages, will release in May 2018. This special hardcover edition will also include new character sketches and color art from FMA writer and illustrator Hiromu Arakawa.

Viz Media also announced a couple new manga titles it will release next year. Fire Punch, a thriller set in a dystopian world covered in snow, will release in January 2018. A new shojo manga series, based on the Japanese video game Kenka Bancho Otome, will also release next year. Titled Kenka Bancho Otome: Girl Beats Boys, the series centers around a girl named Hinako who finds herself tricked into attending an all-boys school.

The Seven Deadly Sins: Knights of Britannia Coming West, Gundam Versus Release Date Announced

The Seven Deadly Sins: Knights of Britannia is coming to the Americas exclusively on the PlayStation 4, Bandai Namco announced at its Anime Expo 2017 panel. Gundam Versus also received a September 29 release date.

Knights of Britannia is the first Seven Deadly Sins console game and follows the rebels on a journey that has "all the of the action and excitement from the anime." Knights of Britannia doesn't have a release date for Japan or the Americas yet.

Bandai Namco announced two other anime games recently; Little Witch Academia: Chamber of Time earlier at Anime Expo and Dragon Ball FighterZ at E3 2017.
