Jessica Jones Alum Directing First Two Defenders Episodes

Marvel has announced one of the directors for its upcoming Netflix mini-series event, The Defenders.

S.J. Clarkson, who directed the first two episodes of Jessica Jones, is set to helm the first two episodes of The Defenders, and will serve as an executive producer on the premiere.

Marvel’s decision to continue working with Clarkson is down to her “outstanding take” on the material.

“We loved her work on Marvel’s Jessica Jones and couldn’t think of a more talented and accomplished person to helm the first two episodes of Marvel’s The Defenders,” Marvel’s Head of Television Jeph Loeb said.

The news comes after Netflix announced earlier this week that Jessica Jones season 2’s directorial lineup will be comprised entirely of women.

Rambo Reboot Gets New Blood With Iceman Director

A new Rambo film is in the works, and director Ariel Vromen (Criminal, The Iceman) is on board to helm.

The film, titled Rambo: New Blood, will serve as a reboot for the series and won't star Sylvester Stallone. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Nu Image/Millennium Films wants to cast a younger actor for the role, and plans to treat the character much like its own James Bond.

Brooks McLaren (How It Ends, Line of Sight) in on board to write the script. Rambo: New Blood is still in the early stages of development, so no details regarding the film's plot have yet been revealed.

Flash, Arrow Stars Team in a Different Superhero Story

The new short film Sidekick is, at a surface glance, a superhero story - one that also boasts a familiar cast to superhero adaptations these days, given it stars Josh Dallas (best known as Once Upon a Time's Prince Charming, but lest we forget, also played Fandral in the first Thor), Emily Bett Rickards (Arrow) and Tom Cavanagh (The Flash).

However, the story is actually quite different than one might expect, as we meet a husband (Dallas) and wife (Rickards) who have something important to tell their son (Christian Michael Cooper) – which we see manifested as a superhero adventure, featuring Dallas, Rickards and Cavanagh.

Sidekick was written and directed by Jeff Cassidy, who’d worked in the camera department in the first two seasons of The Flash, and I spoke to him about the making of the short – which you can watch below.

The Most Ridiculous Halloween Costumes of 2016

Halloween is nearly upon us, and with this time of year comes plenty of weird, creative, potentially offensive costume ideas.

So, we rounded up some of 2016's strangest, most ridiculous Halloween costumes (in our opinion) - click right to see them all:

I don't know if it's because I'm from Australia, where Halloween is a much smaller affair, but I am utterly perplexed by the idea of people dressing up as inanimate objects. But, of course, it is all in good fun.

The images and costumes featured were sourced from Costumeish, Yandy and Amazon.

With Titanfall 2, and Battlefield 1 releasing back-to-back, IGN is looking for your best clips from either game. We'll then share those videos with the IGN audience for the whole world to gawk over.

If you catch one such feat of first-person shooting triumph, just send it to clips@ign.com. Please include the name of the game, your online ID, and a brief description of the video in the subject line. Example: "Titanfall 2 -xXTF2SkillsXx - Titan Drop Kill"

Meanwhile, if you see your friends, neighbors, or old-fashioned online acquaintances produce a clip that isn't yours, ask them to send it our way. We encourage all would-be, digital stunt drivers! Heads up though! Anything with licensed music is a pretty much the only no-no.

Westworld's fifth episode, "Contrapasso," lands this Sunday, October 30th, as Evan Rachel Wood's host-bot Dolores longs to escape her storyline loop and find the freedom that androids don't usually yearn for.
