Nintendo Terminates Fire Emblem Fates Spokesperson

Nintendo product marketing specialist Alison Rapp has been terminated by the company, according to a tweet on her personal account. Rapp is no longer seen as "a good, safe representative of Nintendo," she wrote on Twitter.

Her departure follows a heated internet controversy over the localization of Fire Emblem Fates when the game released in the US in February. The controversy grew into a larger issue that involved complaints being sent to Nintendo.

The debate focused on content altered from the original Japanese release, and Rapp was at the center of complaints about the changes despite having "had no involvement with localized content changes of any kind," according to a separate tweet.

5 Civil War II Facts Marvel Just Revealed

Civil War II is gearing up for its big release on June 1 -- seriously big, Issue #1 will be oversized at 40 pages -- and today Marvel Comics held a press phone-conference to answer some big questions heading into the event.

The first Civil War featured a battle of Freedom vs. Security as Captain America and Iron Man butted heads over whether superheroes should register with the government or be free to act as they please. Similarly, Civil War II will see Iron Man and Captain Marvel sides on an issue, which will split the Marvel superhero community in two. A new Inhuman with the power to see the future appears, so the debate centers around whether this power should be used to arrest people before they commit their crimes (Captain Marvel’s side) or only judge people on the actions they actually commit (Iron Man’s side).

Ben Affleck's contract for Warner Bros.' DC movies covers two future Justice League films, but not for also starring in his proposed solo Batman movie.

THR reports that according to William Morris Endeavor's Patrick Whitesell, Affleck will be Batman at least three times in total, the first being the recent Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

"He's contracted to do at least Justice League One and Two, so at least three times wearing the cape," Whitesell said. "There's a script that he's written that is a really cool

idea, so that's out there as an option."

Hans Zimmer Retires From Scoring Superhero Films

Oscar-winning composer Hans Zimmer is retiring from the superhero scene.

Speaking with BBC, Zimmer explained that he's spent a lot of time with superhero films and he's ready to move on. "I did Batman Begins with Chris

12 years ago, so The Dark Knight Trilogy might be three movies to you, to me it was 11 years of my life," he said.

Since then, Zimmer also has scored Man of Steel and the recently released Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. With the latter, Zimmer admitted it "was very hard for me to do, to try to find new language."

For those curious, you can listen to a preview of Zimmer's score for Batman v Superman. And don't forget to check out IGN's review of Batman v Superman either.

New Mutants Will Bring a YA Vibe to the X-Men Movies

The X-Men movie universe is starting to grow in big ways and with Deadpool a smash hit and Gambit in the works (though production has been delayed until later this year), you’re going to be seeing a lot more films branching off from the core series.

At the Star Wars Rebels season finale screening this week, I asked Simon Kinberg – who is an EP on Rebels, while also playing a key role as a producer on the X-Men films – for an update on one of those projects, The New Mutants. Last year it was revealed that Josh Boone (The Fault in Our Stars) was attached to co-write and direct the film, based on the Marvel comic about a team of young X-Men in training.

Warning: this article contains spoilers for Batman & Robin Eternal #26!

This issue saw Dick Grayson and his team (which included pretty much every Batman sidekick in the history of the DC Universe, plus Midnighter and Scarecrow for good measure) battle Mother as she tried to convert thousands of innocent children into obedient assassins. The conflict boiled down to two crucial choices. Would Harper Row kill Cassandra Cain in revenge for the murder of her mother? And would Cassandra in turn kill Mother, the woman who manipulated her life and molded her into a remorseless assassin?

Far Cry Primal Getting Free Survival Mode

Ubisoft is bringing a free survival mode to Far Cry Primal on April 12.

The game's survival mode will feature optional permadeath and a stamina gauge for Takkar, meaning he'll grow weaker and need rest from time to time. In addition, the minimap is turned off.

"The idea of doing this mode actually started from the team, saying they wanted to create this mode based on feedback they got from the community,” Far Cry Primal director Thomas Simon said on the UbiBlog. “The keystone of that survival mode is the change in the exploration, crafting and difficulty of the game to make it even more realistic. After that, there are options the player can activate to go further.”
