The Division Won’t Have Microtransactions

The Division will be free of microtransactions of a "pay-to-win" nature, according to Ubisoft.

The detail comes from the company's community manager, Natchai Stappers. In response to a tweet about the in-game currency "Phoenix Credit" Stappers assured fans not to worry.

Though they didn't go into detail about the currency, the community manager promised more information down the line.

The Departed TV Series Adaptation Reportedly in the Works

The Departed producer Roy Lee has revealed a possibility for a TV series follow-up to the Academy Award-winning film.

Lee told Collider there had been talks of doing a sequel to The Departed, but it involved reviving “characters who died in the original movie.” Instead, Lee said the idea was revamped into a TV show, similar to what Noah Hawley has done with the Fargo TV series.

Minecraft Movie Targeting Jurassic World Audience

Warner Bros. Pictures' Minecraft movie is in its scripting stage, producer Roy Lee announced at DICE 2016.

Lee—who produced The LEGO Movie—added his team is "also doing visual designs to show the studio what the world will look like." And according to Collider, Minecraft developer Mojang will be "very involved" in the film's development. Warner Bros. and Mojang will work in collaboration, sharing ideas so the film stays connected to updated versions of the game's world.

"Minecraft would be part of a multiverse where humans can enter," Lee said of the film, "that has the feel of what the live action version of a Minecraft experience."

J.J. Abrams Has an Idea For a Third Cloverfield Film

While it seems the upcoming (and mysterious) 10 Cloverfield Lane isn't technically the Cloverfield 2 we've been waiting for, producer J.J. Abrams says he has an idea for a third Cloverfield movie.

In an interview with EW, Abrams says that while the first two movies are not directly connected, they are "blood relatives" and that there is a "larger conceit at play." Whether that means an anthology set-up or a connected, underlying storyline is still anyone's guess. “This movie is very purposefully not called Cloverfield 2, because it’s not Cloverfield 2,” Abrams also told Fandango, adding that “the association is clear and there are multiple connections – and there is a bigger idea at play for us with these movies and this connection. “

Stellan Skarsgård won't reprise his role as scientist Erik Selvig in Thor: Ragnarok.

slate." But he did point to his current contract with Disney and Marvel as an indicator of where Selvig could pop up next.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 Multiplayer Free on PC This Weekend

Call of Duty: Black Ops III is running a free weekend of multiplayer as a preview for its Multiplayer Starter Pack on Steam.

According to Steam, beginning today, the free weekend runs through 1 pm PT on Sunday February 28. Players will also earn double experience starting tomorrow at 10 am PT through Monday February 29 at 10 am PT. However, players are capped at level 55 and cannot Prestige in the starter pack.

Battlefield 5 Reportedly Set in World War 1

According to a listing by an online retailer, Battlefield 5 will be a tactical shooter set in World War 1.

The listing on German retailer World of Games, originally found on Twitter, lists EA's upcoming shooter as "Mehrspieler Taktik Shooter im 1. Weltkrieg" or "Multiplayer tactical shooter in WW1" when translated to English. What's more, it also reveals the game will be releasing on October 26.

While the listing has since been updated to just say "multiplayer tactical shooter," Twitter user Thrillho managed to nab a screenshot of the original description.

Batman Himself Rewrote the Script for BvS

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice star Ben Affleck reportedly reworked the script for the film even on the days he suited up as Batman.

A source told US Weekly that Affleck, who won an Oscar with Matt Damon for Best Screenplay in 1998 for Good Will Hunting, wasn’t “thrilled” with the BvS script and “fixed it” on multiple occasions.
