Predator Skulls Filming Seemingly Wraps While Confirming Additional Cast Members

Dan Trachtenberg's upcoming Predator movie has seemingly finished filming according to the movie's cinematographer.

Jeff Cutter announced on Instagram that Predator Skulls had finished wrapping, which itself is an announcement as the movie was previously just called "Skull."

Cutter's Instagram post reveals a lot of details about the movie which has, for the most part, remained secretive. He even seemingly revealed two more cast members have joined the Amber Midthunder-led movie as well, as reported by Collider.

"And that's a wrap on Skulls," Cutter's Instagram post above reads. "Can't thank [Dan Trachtenberg] enough for inviting me on this epic journey and entrusting me to help achieve his vision for this film! Thanks to a great cast led by [Amber Midthunder, Dakota Beavers, and Dane DiLiegro], and much love to a brave Calgary crew for diving headfirst in with us!"

As Collider points out, Beavers and DiLiegro’s roles in Skulls are still unknown, but considering DiLiegro has played monsters in American Horror Stories before, there's a good chance he might be the actual Predator in the movie.

DiLiegro also commented on Cutter's Instagram post and said "was a pleasure being your sasquatch." Predators are basically alien sasquatches, right? Beavers' role in Skulls is anybody's guess at this point, though, and it might remain that way for now considering how secretive the movie as a whole has been so far.

New details about this Predator movie emerged back in July when it was revealed that the movie was going to be a female-fronted origin story tracing the Predator's first journey back to Earth. Skulls producers John Davis and John Fox revealed this information back when the movie was called "Skull."

The last Predator movie released was 2018's The Predator, and it was written and directed by Iron Man 3 director, Shane Black. It grossed $160.5 million, which is the highest box office gross for a single Predator movie ever, but because the movie cost $88 million to make and more to market, a sequel was not greenlit. Check out our thoughts on the movie in IGN's The Predator review.

First John Cena Peacemaker Image Gives Us a Look At the New Squad

Even before The Suicide Squad hit theaters and HBO Max, it was known that one of the (anti-)heroes in the movie, John Cena’s Peacemaker, would be getting a TV spinoff. We now have a first-look image from the show.

Entertainment Weekly has an exclusive image from the Peacemaker series which includes a couple of familiar faces for anyone who has seen The Suicide Squad.

Massive Spoilers for The Suicide Squad Below

In James Gunn’s Suicide Squad reboot, Peacemaker and Bloodsport (Idris Elba) have something of a not-so-friendly rivalry that culminates in a shootout towards the end of the film. Bloodsport shoots Peacemaker through the neck, but a post-credits stinger revealed that Peacemaker survived the shootout and is recruited by Amanda Waller’s subordinates to save the world from some new threat.

And the first image basically picks off from there. Cena’s Peacemaker is back up and running, and he’s sitting at a table with some folks from Waller’s office including Economos and Harcourt, as well as another costumed character, Vigilante.

Gunn says he’s not a fan of bringing back characters after they seemingly died, but he became his worst enemy to get Peacemaker his show. “I did exactly the thing I hate when other filmmakers do [it],” Gunn told EW. “But I did it! I’ll have to live with the repercussions, which is the most incredible TV show people will ever see.”

Peacemaker is set to premiere in January 2022 with an eight-episode season. He’ll team up with three new characters, a mercenary named Murn, the character Vigilante, and a character named Adebayo.

Gunn wrote all episodes of Peacemaker and directed five of the season’s episodes. Meanwhile, Gunn is still working on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 after becoming re-united with Marvel. Check out IGN’s The Suicide Squad review where we praised Gunn’s irreverent take on the DC villain-verse.

God of War Could Be Latest PlayStation Exclusive To Jump To PC Based On New GeForce Datamine [Update]

Update 09/14/2021: Nvidia has responded to the list of datamined list of games, saying that it was "used only for internal tracking and testing," adding that some titles included are "speculative" and don't constitute "confirmation nor an announcement of any game."

It's not clear whether Nvidia is testing products with a view to one day adding them to the GeForce service, or if these are simply tech tests of some kind. It seems the list itself is no longer accessible.

Nvidia's full statement follows:

"NVIDIA is aware of an unauthorized published game list, with both released and/or speculative titles, used only for internal tracking and testing. Inclusion on the list is neither confirmation nor an announcement of any game.

"NVIDIA took immediate action to remove access to the list. No confidential game builds or personal information were exposed."

A new leak suggests that Santa Monica Studios' 2018 hit God of War is the next PlayStation exclusive to make the leap to PC.

As first spotted first on Reddit, Ighor July, a software developer recently performed a datamine of Nvidia's GeForce Now database notes several titles headed to the service, and subsequently on PC. That's because Nvidia's cloud gaming service streams PC games from storefronts like the Epic Games Store and Steam.

In particular, it notes that God of War is coming to PC via Steam with that version streamable on the cloud gaming service.

The datamine also mentions several other games, ranging from games rumored to be in the works, games that were already announced or available on PC, or games that are currently console exclusive. This includes the long-rumored Grand Theft Auto Remastered trilogy as well as PlayStation exclusives, such as Bluepoint's Demon Souls Remake and Housemarque's Returnal. Again, the datamine does not confirm nor deny any of the games listed and should be taken with a grain of salt.

Yet, the move of more first-party PlayStation games is imminent as Sony is moving in a direction that will bring more of its exclusives onto PC. Previous games released on PS4 and were then ported to PC include Guerilla Games' Horizon Zero Dawn and Bend Studio's Days Gone. In addition, Naughty Dog's adventure games Uncharted IV: A Thief's End and Uncharted: The Lost Legacy are being remastered and packaged for PC as the Legacy of Thieves Collection.

To further assist in this direction, earlier this year, Sony announced that it had acquired Dutch studio Nixxes, a company specializing in porting games onto PC.

A She-Ra Live-Action Show Is In Development for Amazon Prime

A new, standalone She-Ra live-action series is in development for Amazon Prime.

Variety reports that the project is in its very early stages, and the writing team has not yet been decided. However, Dreamworks Animation is on board as an executive producer, after being involved in Netflix's series, She-Ra and the Princesses of Power, which ran for five seasons.

She-Ra first appeared in 1985's He-Man and She-Ra: The Secret of the Sword before starring in her own animated show. If it's greenlit, Amazon's series would mark She-Ra's first appearance in live-action.

Elsewhere, an animated reboot for He-Man called Masters of the Universe: Revelation was released earlier this year on Netflix, which we called "great" in our review.

However, a live-action Masters of the Universe movie is still undergoing troubled development. Earlier this year, we learned that Noah Centineo won't play He-Man in the film, despite previous reports that he was taking on the role.

If you're interested in watching Netflix's She-Ra series, check out our She-Ra season 1 review, where we praised how, "She-Ra and the Princesses of Power successfully reboots the 30-year-old franchise for a new generation, with a more diverse group of heroines this time around, each with their own distinct personalities and unique abilities on the battlefield."

Insomniac’s Wolverine Will Be “Full Size” With a “Mature Tone”

We don't have much more than a basic teaser trailer for Marvel's Wolverine, but some interesting tidbits are beginning to emerge that shed light on Insomniac's new superhero action game for the PlayStation 5.

One of the big questions that fans had concerned its scope. Would Marvel's Wolverine be similar in size to Spider-Man, or would it be more of a side project like Miles Morales? Creative Director Brian Horton addressed that point in the kind of short and to-the-point tweet that would make Logan proud.

"Full size, mature tone," Horton replied.

Brief as it is, Horton's response provides a decent picture of Insomniac's intentions for Marvel's Wolverine. Despite being developed in conjunction with Spider-Man 2, Marvel's Wolverine is being treated as every bit as much of a priority as Spidey.

As for the mature tone, that should provide some hope to fans hoping that Wolverine will align with the grittier tone that the character is known for. Still, it may be too much to hope for a Mature rating. As successful as R-rated hero films like Deadpool have proven, Insomniac will be under plenty of pressure to sell to as wide of an audience as possible.

One way or another, Insomniac has confirmed that Marvel's Wolverine will be part of the studio's burgeoning Marvel Gaming Universe, so it shouldn't be too far off from Spider-Man's tone. It will be interesting to see how the two compare whenever Wolverine is eventually released.

Don't expect that to be any time soon, though. Marvel's Wolverine is said to be "very early in development," suggesting that we shouldn't expect to see it until Holiday 2023 at the earliest. In the meantime, we'll at least have Marvel's Midnight Suns, which will also feature Wolverine.

Marvel's Wolverine does not yet have a release window. It is under development for PlayStation 5. For all the rest of the games announced during last week's PlayStation Showcase, go here for a full recap.

Batwheels: Ethan Hawke Voicing Batman in New DC Preschool Animated Series

Ethan Hawke, Jacob Bertrand, and AJ Hudson are leading the voice cast for Batwheels, DC's first preschool animated series produced by Warner Bros. Animation.

The talented cast of Batwheels was rolled out on Monday during a special virtual event celebrating the launch of Cartoonito, WarnerMedia Kids & Family's new preschool programming block available on HBO Max and Cartoon Network, which will feature a brand new animated series about the most heroic and iconic vehicles from the DC universe.

Unexpectedly, Hawke (Training Day, Boyhood) will be providing the voice of Gotham City's greatest protector, Batman, who aims to keep the streets safe from any and all threats alongside Hudson's Duke Thomas, the first black Robin to have donned the pages of DC comics, and Leah Lewis as Cassandra Cain, aka Batgirl, the first Asian-American Batgirl as introduced in the comics.

While Robin "loves sinking his teeth into a great detective mystery," Batgirl jumps right into the action "ripping around the streets of Gotham City on her motorcycle," otherwise known as Bibi, the fastest of the Batwheels, voiced by Madigan Kacmar. Bibi features alongside Noah Bentley's Buff, the Bat-styled monster truck at "the heart of the team."

Bertrand's Batmobile, nicknamed Bam, is the leader of the Batwheels team, though "he's not always sure he's up for the task." Fortunately, he has a sidekick in Jordan Reed's Redbird, Robin's zippy sports car who is "enthusiastic and extremely inquisitive" on every mission, including those that involve Lilimar's Batwing, Batman’s "sophisticated" supersonic jet plane.

The Batwheels crew are supported by Kimberly D. Brooks who voices the Batcomputer, serving as "the supervisor, dispatcher, and trainer of the team" as well as their mother figure. Mick Wingert's Moe, on the other hand, is Batman's sarcastic robot repairman who "facilitates repairs and upkeep on his fleet of vehicles."

The Batwheels are described by Warner Bros. Animation as a team of incredible crimefighters who have banded together to combat crime and evil on the streets of Gotham. The series will follow the sentient vehicles as they "navigate the growing pains of being a newly formed super team as well as the growing pains that come with just being a kid."

Batwheels is being produced by Warner Bros. Animation, with Sam Register (Looney Tunes Cartoons) serving as executive producer on the project alongside Michael G. Stern (Doc McStuffins). Simon J. Smith (Baymax Dreams) is also on board as a supervising producer, together with Steven Fink of Bang Zoom Ltd. as a producer.

The series joins a roster of shows aimed at preschoolers that will be available on HBO Max and Cartoon Network. However, HBO Max is also expanding its offering of adult animated television series, with a Scooby-Doo spinoff series, a Clone High reboot, and Fired on Mars, an existential workplace comedy set on the Martian campus of a modern tech company.
