Bloodhound SSC Test Communications for Rocket-Powered Car

Bloodhound SSC has released a video showing the communications test for the company's attempt to break the land speed record with a 1,000mph (1,609km/h) car.

Last autumn a Jaguar F-Type R Coupé and a Jaguar XF saloon carrying the communications equipment needed to stream voice, data, and video from the Bloodhound Supersonic Car took to the desert of South Africa. Above them an L39 jet flew passes over the track, reaching closing speeds of up to 650mph.

Communications might sound like a trivial component for the fastest car ever made but, considering that the car is designed to reach enough speed to travel from St. Louis to San Francisco in about two hours, it's critical that the team of engineers is able to get accurate real-time data from the car as it (literally) rockets its way across South Africa.

Flash: Pied Piper is Coming and He’s Out for Blood

Warning: We discuss some aspects of the upcoming episode of The Flash "The Sound and the Fury"...

The Flash will introduce a new classic comic character this week in the form of the show's version of Pied Piper. After a confrontation with Captain Cold and Heat Wave, Barry Allen and Team Flash (are we calling them Team Flash yet?) will come face-to-face with Dr. Wells' golden-boy/ideal employee-turned menace to Central City Hartley Rathaway (Andy Mientus), who has returned bent on revenge after being...negatively impacted by the particle accelerator explosion (we won't say how, for now).

"Like many of the comic book characters, they sometimes are a little bit silly," Executive producer Andrew Kreisberg told reporters today at an event previewing "The Sound and the Fury" when asked what The Flash producers wanted to bring forward in the character that fans may not expect.

Stephen King’s It Reboot Will be Vicious

For those wondering what New Line plans to do with its upcoming reboot of Stephen King's It, get ready for something "very scary."

In an interview with EW, producer Seth Grahame-Smith revealed that the two-part film adaptation of King's 1986 creepy-clown novel "will bring back some of the viciousness of the book that they couldn’t do with the

miniseries because it was for broadcast. I think it’s going to be very scary, but I also feel like you’ve got

Cary

who is going to direct these kids -- and he’s incredible at casting, incredible at shooting. He’s incredible with tone and atmosphere. One of the things I wanted to do is be a part of one of the really good King adaptations. As we know, there is an echelon of King adaptations that are classics. There are some that are okay. There are some that we’d rather forget.”
