Here Are Your Free PS Plus Games for June

The June lineup of free games for PS Plus members has been announced, and leading the pack of freebies is Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes for PS4.

PlayStation Plus members who own a PS4 are eligible to download four free games in total: the aforementioned Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes, Skulls of the Shogun: Bonafide Edition, Super Exploding Zoo and Futuridium EP Deluxe. The last two of those games have cross-play functionality with PS Vita, as well.

For PS3 owners, Call of Juarez: Gunslinger and Cloudberry Kingdom are up for grabs.

Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes is a prologue for the upcoming Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain and is a bit-sized sampling of what's to come. The game itself can be finished in about an hour for those who feel so inclined. For value-conscious gamers, "free" might just be the right price.

Project Cars Dev Responds to Criticism Over Wii U Version

The studio head of Project Cars developer Slightly Mad Studios has released a statement addressing criticisms about the Wii U version of the game.

Speaking to Nintendo Life, Ian Bell explained that a Wii U version was never guaranteed, and the team would much rather wait for Nintendo's next console rather than compromise on their vision and deliver a product that doesn't live up to expectations.

"Project Cars/Weapons of Mass Development opened funding initially as a free-to-play PC only racing game," Bell explained. "This is when the bulk of the funding arrived. Funding was closed late 2013. By vote of the members, it changed to a boxed product PC/Xbox 360/PS3 and 'maybe Wii U' game. It was always 'maybe' as we had no knowledge of the system.

It’s been a little under two years since the failed MMO Final Fantasy XIV was closed down before being relaunched as A Realm Reborn, and what a two years they’ve been. Under the watchful eye of director Naoki Yoshida, Final Fantasy XIV has gone from being an unsightly blemish on the books of Square Enix to one of the most profitable parts of its portfolio, currently bringing in over 4 million paying subscribers and set to imminently receive its first expansion. From what I’ve been able to experience of Heavensward, this is a trend that’s set to continue.

A new report claims Mortal Kombat X on last-gen consoles has been delayed yet again.
