Creepy Roguelike We Happy Few Hits Kickstarter
We Happy Few is an eerie survival game set in a dystopian vision of 1960s England, where happiness drugs fuel the population's mindless assimilation and ignorance of the city's dark history.
Developer Compulsion Games first revealed We Happy Few earlier this year, with little detail beyond its announcement trailer. Now you can get a better idea of its gameplay and lore on its newly launched Kickstarter.
According to its Kickstarter campaign, We Happy Few is a survival game with roguelike elements.
Every time you start over, the game procedurally generates a new city to explore. The story and characters remain the same, but the challenge of navigating the so-called cheery streets of Wellington Wells is always new.
NBA 2K16 Being Directed By Spike Lee
Filmmaker Spike Lee has confirmed his involvement with NBA 2K16. Ahead of tonight's NBA Finals, Lee announced he will be writing and directing 2K16's MyCareer mode.
"We follow a kid through the trials and tribulations of being a top high school player and the decisions he has to make," Lee told USA Today.
According to Lee, ninety minutes of "cinematic narrative" were already captured during a twelve-day motion capture shoot with 2K Games. Ryan Peters, a 2K Games spokesperson, says that ninety minutes will translate into roughly twelve hours of story content.
Natsume Unveils E3 2015 Lineup
Natsume has pulled back the curtain on its games lineup for this year's Los Angeles-based gaming expo.
The Japanese publisher will be showcasing three titles at E3, with the most notable inclusion being Harvest Moon: Seeds of Memories, which was just recently announced for release on PC, iOS, Android, and Wii U.
Additionally, Natsume is bringing two other titles to the show: Gotcha Racing, which will be coming to 3DS this summer, and Brave Tank Hero, which will release on both Wii U and Nintendo's handheld at an unspecified date later this year.
Brady Bunch and Cheers Are Getting Stage Shows
CBS Consumer Products is bringing The Brady Bunch and Cheers, two of television's most iconic sitcoms, to the stage.
The Brady Bunch will become a musical comedy with a brand new story -- so chances are you won't see Marcia get hit in the nose with a football live. Wings guitarists Laurence and Hope Juber are writing the music and lyrics.
While The Brady Bunch only lasted five seasons during its initial run from 1969 to 1974, the show has enjoyed a long, healthy life in syndication and can still be found on TV to this day. The show was also the basis for two satirical feature films which poked fun at the Brady's earnest nature. And then there's this fantastic Snickers commercial:

Limbo Developer Playdead Delays Inside
Indie developer PlayDead has announced that its upcoming Xbox One title Inside has been delayed.
"Last year we announced that INSIDE would be out in 'early 2015'. It’s not!" the studio informed IGN via email. "After 5 years in development, we, more than anyone, are looking forward to the release. We are so close, but getting it right has taken a little more time than we anticipated."
Inside was revealed during Microsoft's E3 media briefing last year, and bears a striking resemblance to the studio's prior title, Limbo. Back in 2012, Playdead confirmed the game was "at least two years away," and now it looks like the wait is going to be even longer.
Steam Machine Release Dates and Pre-Orders Revealed
Valve has announced the first pre-order details for a series of upcoming Steam Machines and when they'll be available.
Though lots of Steam Machines have been announced, only a few will be available to pre-order now along with the Steam Controller. Doing so, however, will allow you to pick the hardware up several weeks before anyone else.
North American gamers will be able to pre-order an Alienware Steam Machine, Steam Link or Steam Controller from GameStop or Steam as of today and get their order on October 16, with the official launch not happening until November 10. This offer is only available for a limited time.
How XCOM 2’s Procedurally Generated Maps Keep You Guessing
The words procedurally generated spark the idea of endlessly interchangeable combinations of parts linked together in hundreds of different ways, creating something unique that may never be seen again. At its heart, that’s not terribly far off the mark, but as Firaxis Games discovered during the production of its 2012 reboot, XCOM: Enemy Unknown, there’s a gulf between random and procedural. And traveling from Enemy Unknown to XCOM 2 has meant discovering how to bridge that long divide.
Much of that learning process took shape during the development of Enemy Unknown – so much that it simply couldn’t be shaped and applied alongside the project’s already hefty development. Fortunately for us, those lessons are finally ready to be applied to XCOM 2’s shining white alien-built megacities, rugged forests, deserts, and snow-capped wildernesses (among other settings) that will serve as the battlefields in humanity’s war against the aliens’ occupying force.
Hannibal: 8 1/2 Extremely Disturbing Moments
Note: With Hannibal returning for Season 3 on Thursday, June 4th, we're re-featuring our look back at all of the fascinating carnage the series has given us in its first two seasons.
Spoilers through Hannibal: Season 2 follow...
I freely admit to being one of those people who thought that making a TV show based on Hannibal Lecter was a bad idea. Even more so given that it was to air on NBC. I mean, what good would it be to do a Hannibal series if you didn't couldn't coat it in the TV-MA content that a cable channel, or a premium cable channel, could allow?
