Final Fantasy 7 Remake Won’t be Game’s Final Title
The remake of fan-favorite Final Fantasy VII is getting a remake, but the title Final Fantasy VII Remake is not permanent.
"Essentially we put that there to say 'yes, this is a remake,'" executive producer Shinji Hashimoto told us in an interview. Hashimoto went on to say more info on the game and its final title will be made available during the northern-hemisphere's winter.
Last winter saw the first ever PlayStation Experience, held in Las Vegas in December. During the event, Sony announced Final Fantasy VII would be coming to the PS4, but excitement waned somewhat when it was learned the version announced was a straight port from the PC version of the game.
The newly announced Final Fantasy VII remake, on the other hand, will be rebuilt entirely. Hashimoto said his team is looking at the original game to find what needs to be changed to bring the game into the modern era.
How Ubisoft Evolves Its Brands
Ubisoft believes the way to keep its brands feeling fresh is to take risks. At E3 2015, SVP of Marketing and Sales Tony Key spoke to IGN about the publisher’s strategy for sustaining its key franchises. And even when they don't pay off, it presents an opportunity to learn about a series' fanbase or about the development process itself.
“You have to take risks,” says Key. “Sometimes it doesn’t work. We took a lot of risks with Unity, to try and move that technology and the brand forward, and some of it didn’t work out.” But Syndicate will benefit from those setbacks.

In The Long Dark, What Kills You Makes You Stronger
I froze to death in The Long Dark. New to its unforgiving sandbox world, I couldn’t organize my inventory efficiently enough to stay warm, and I froze right there in the snow. It was a pitiful, embarrassing death.
So naturally, I wanted to try again.
The Long Dark is a game you will never win - its end state will always be a date with the reaper. But it quickly got under my skin, like many demanding games with clear systems do. The Long Dark’s challenges are simple: eat, sleep, stay warm, and build things that help you do these things. When you fail, you know the fault lies with you, and there lies the hook: this time, I'll last longer.
Project Morpheus Transformed Me Into an FPS Badass…and a Horse
As hardware, Project Morpheus doesn’t wow me as much as the Oculus Rift has. Having it on my head is very comfortable—it’s light and well padded—but it doesn’t block out the rest of the world as much as I’d like. My eyes also tire out quickly when wearing it, and I’m not yet convinced Sony’s adequately solved the technical issues that contribute to motion sickness. (I left my E3 appointment feeling pretty ill, unfortunately.)
But when it comes to software, Project Morpheus definitely showed me this week just how wide the spectrum of VR content will be—I also left my appointment excited about the types of games we may soon see. Far and away, the highlight was Impulse Gear’s FPS tech demo, where I shot things on an alien planet with an actual physical (albeit plastic) gun. The peripheral fully controlled my movement and my virtual weapon: I moved around the landscape via its analog stick; the Move controller placed inside it tracked where I aimed; and I fired off rounds by pulling either of its two triggers. (The back trigger shot off bullets, and the front trigger unleashed plasma rockets.) Meanwhile, Morpheus changed the camera view based on where I was looking.
CD Projekt Talks Cyberpunk 2077
Today at E3 2015 IGN had the opportunity to chat with CD Projekt's Co-Founder and Joint CEO Marcin Iwinski, and Head of Marketing & PR Michal Platkow Gilewski about the company's long-gestating sci-fi RPG Cyberpunk 2077.
Earlier this year the company famously stated that it didn't intend to show off the game until 2017 at the earliest. So why announce it, only to go dark?
"We released the Cyberpunk teaser trailer because we wanted to see how gamers felt about it," Iwinski explained. "We were super excited about the project internally, but what if it wasn't the right thing

Hatoful Boyfriend: Holiday Star Has New Ties to First Game
When Mediatonic adapted Hatoful Boyfriend, they were careful to work with the original creator, Hato Moa, to craft new content for the Steam release back in 2014, and they've done the same with Hatoful Boyfriend: Holiday Star.
Mediatonic said that Hatoful Boyfriend: Holiday Star will have new story elements that tie the game directly back to Hatoful Boyfriend and plenty of manga and anime references.
An antagonist in Hatoful Boyfriend: Holiday Star, the Golden Pheasant and magazine editor Tohri is out for revenge against another devious bird, and the all-bird school St. PigeoNations and its students are caught in the crossfire of the revenge scheme.
To give Tohri a little more background, he's been added to to the PlayStation 4 and PS Vita versions of Hatoful Boyfriend. He'll also be included in the PC version through a free update when the PS4 and Vita versions hatch later this summer.
