Room Escapes: What It’s Like When a Video Game Becomes Real
Just a few moments ago you were standing in a tea shop in San Francisco’s Japantown, shaking the rain off your umbrella and wondering if you should ask the barista if she knows where the Time Travel Lab is. The next minute, you’re locked in a secretive room a few stories above the unassuming café with nine strangers.
The room is plain, with white walls and modest furniture. But there are also things off about it. Cryptic messages scrawled all over the walls and chalkboard. A broken tape player. Several small, locked chests. It's clear that a mysterious event has taken place here, and the only hints as to the who, what, when, and why are in the clues and riddles hidden around the room, sometimes in plain sight.
You Can Play KOTOR 2 in 5K
Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords is coming to Mac, Linux, and SteamOS alongside a substantial PC update today, more than 10 years after its original launch date. KOTOR 2 goes on sale on Steam and Apple's Mac App Store for $10. Here's what you can look forward to.
KOTOR 2 brings support for up to 5K resolution as well as widescreen support and Achievements. Additionally, Steam Cloud and controller support comes in the new version of Obsidian's sequel to BioWare's classic RPG. Steam Workshop compatibility means the game's legendary mod support can continue on Steam across all platforms, too. To that end, the Sith Lords Restored Content Mod -- a mode that completes KOTOR 2, which had missing chunks at launch -- could well be on its way to the Steam Workshop shortly for anyone to install.

We now know what's in Dead or Alive 5: Last Round's second season pass.
The second season pass comes following a boost in DLC sales, a Koei Tecmo representative told IGN earlier today.
"DoA DLC sales have
met with great success in Europe and US, predominantly because the fan base has expanded significantly on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One."
In terms of content, New Costume Pass 2 offers 98 new outfits, along with an exclusive Secret Agent Hanoka costume, which is only available for season pass owners. Here's Hanoka's exclusive outfit in case you were wondering.

Project CARS Cancelled on Wii U
Project CARS on Wii U has officially been cancelled, according to Slightly Mad Studios boss Ian Bell.
Speaking to Nintendo Life, Bell explained the game may one day make its debut on Nintendo's new NX system but, as it stands, the Wii U simply can't handle it.
"The official line is that we're awaiting an announcement from Nintendo on new hardware," he said. "As of now pCARS is simply too much for the Wii U."
Earlier this week, Bell admitted the developer is struggling with the Wii U version, before saying it may instead come to the next generation Nintendo console the company announced in March. Though Bell has previously said a Wii U version was never guaranteed, this is the first time we've had confirmation of a cancellation.
DC Explores Cyborg’s Human Side
Cyborg is one of DC's perennial team players. He's been a mainstay of the Teen Titans since the hallowed days of Marv Wolfman and George Perez's run. More recently, Cyborg stepped up to the big leagues when the New 52 relaunch positioned him as a founding member of the Justice League. But while he's enjoyed an illustrious superhero career, rarely have we seen Vic Stone given the spotlight in a solo comic of his own.
That's something DC is looking to change with their current "DC You" relaunch. They've paired writer David F. Walker (Shaft) and artist Ivan Reis (Justice League) for a new ongoing series that explores Vic's role in the DCU, his circle of friends and enemies and his unpredictable, constantly evolving powers.
Rockstar Fixes Grand Theft Auto 5 Online’s Framerate Issues
Rockstar has addressed the framerate issues affecting Grand Theft Auto V and Online on PC since the roll-out of update 1.28.
In an update on Rockstar's support website, the developer confirmed that while the performance drop had been fixed, the latest title update may affect those playing Grand Theft Auto V's single player campaign with mods.
"We also received some reports linking decreased performance when using Story Mode mods to TU 1.28," said Rockstar. "As mentioned previously, we are not actively targeting players using mods in Story Mode, nor are we explicitly implementing protections against them in-game.”
"Our primary focus is on protecting GTA Online against modifications that could give players an unfair advantage, disrupt gameplay, or cause griefing. However, as a reminder, mods are still unauthorized and as such, Title Updates may cause Story Mode mods to behave in unexpected ways because they are not supported or tested, and players run them at their own risk."
Microsoft May Face Disc-Scratching Class-Action
This article has been edited. The spelling of 'disk' should now read 'disc'.
Microsoft may be on the verge of a class-action lawsuit following a recurring claim that an Xbox 360 defect gouges discs.
As Arstechnica reports, a decision was made by the 9th US Circuit Court of Appeals on Monday that says Microsoft should either face litigation regarding the claims or face a Supreme Court showdown.
Throughout the lifespan of the Xbox 360, Microsoft maintained that scratched discs were the result of consumer misuse, most of which were caused by customers moving the console with a disc in the tray. That said, if it was a Microsoft-published game, customers did have the option of getting the disc replaced for free.
