Twisted Horror Title Fran Bow Has A Release Date

Twisted horror title Fran Bow is coming to Windows, Mac, and Linux on August 27.

For those yet to hear the name, Fran Bow is a “creepy” adventure game that follows a young girl dealing with a mental health condition and an “unfair destiny.”

“After witnessing the gruesome and mysterious loss of her parents, found dismembered at their home, Fran rushes into the woods, together with her only friend, Mr. Midnight, a black cat that Fran had previously received as a present from her parents,“ reads the press release blurb.

“In the forest, Fran goes into shock over the loss of her parents and when she recovers, she’s at Oswald Asylum, an oppressive mental institution for children, and Mr. Midnight is nowhere to be found."

Here’s What Windows 10 Does For Gamers

Microsoft has outlined what the upcoming Windows 10 update will bring to gamers, including details on the new Xbox App.

In a post on the Xbox Wire, Microsoft details some "of the many" key reasons the new Xbox App will improve gaming for Xbox One players who also have Windows 10 devices.

"Windows 10 is kind of a big deal," states Microsoft. "With countless improvements and pantloads of new features, it’s putting a whole new face on the personal computing world. But of course, what we’re most excited about are gaming features – and fortunately, Windows 10 is bringing with it a renewed focus on gaming. One of the most visible elements is the new Xbox app."

Wii U Sales Pass 10 Million, Splatoon Hits 1.62 Million

Nintendo's first quarter financials reveal a mixed bag of news for the Wii U, as lifetime sales for the console edged past the 10 million mark but fell year-on-year.

For the three month period ending June 30, the company sold 470,000 units of the Wii U compared with 510,000 last year. In terms of breakdown, sales in Japan shot up from 60,000 last year to 150,000 this year, though the opposite was true in the rest of the world.

In the US sales fell from 280,000 last year to just 190,000 in this period. Similarly sales in other territories went from 170,000 to 130,000.

This drop is despite the launch of Splatoon, which has sold 1.62 million units despite launching at the end of May. Wii U software sold a total of 4.55 million units worldwide.

Rugby Challenge 3 Coming Later This Year

Tru Blu Entertainment has announced overnight the upcoming release of Rugby Challenge 3, due to arrive in the final quarter of 2015 for PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One.

Rugby Challenge 3 is being developed by Melbourne, Australia-based studio Wicked Witch Software.

The announcement confirms Rugby Challenge 3 “will feature key Rugby powerhouse teams such as the Wallabies, All Blacks, England, Springboks and more, all under official license.” It also confirms the game will feature 11 competitions, including Super Rugby, New Zealand’s domestic ITM Cup and South Africa’s Currie Cup. Rugby Sevens will also feature.

The new Be a Pro mode is another new addition and will allow players to join a club team as a rookie and play out a career over 13 seasons. Completing match goals will increase your player’s skills and help you work your way towards becoming captain of your club and see you selected for international duty.

Poltergeist Director Will Reportedly Helm Five Nights at Freddy’s Movie

Director of the Poltergeist remake, Gil Kenan, has reportedly hammered out a deal to direct the live-action adaptation of Five Nights At Freddy’s, according to Deadline.

Kenan, who directed the well-received 2006 animated film Monster House, will write the script alongside Tyler Burton Smith (Sleeping Dogs, Prototype 2).

It was reported in April that Warner Bros. had scooped up the rights to the popular horror series for a feature film adaptation.

Black-ish Creator Co-Writing Shaft Reboot

Kenya Barris is co-writing the Shaft reboot.

The Black-ish creator will be sharing writing duties with Alex Barnow, executive producer and writer on The Goldbergs, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Barnow and Barris have worked together before on a currently untitled comedy about a character who's haunted by Ice Cube's voice.

The reboot is being produced by Jon Davis who's responsible for producing Guy Ritchie's upcoming take on Man from U.N.C.L.E., as well as the Victor Frankenstein re-imagining.

Tonally, this version of Shaft is reported to be an action-comedy, unlike the grittier take on the material in Samuel L. Jackson's 2000 version of the same name.

SPECTRE: Is the Theme Song ‘Spy’ by Ellie Goulding?

British pop star Ellie Goulding may have recorded the theme song to SPECTRE, the upcoming 24th James Bond movie.

According to Showbiz 411, BMI Music has a song registered under Ellie Goulding titled “Spy” that the site believes is actually the theme song to SPECTRE. The singer has dropped hints recently that link the song to SPECTRE.

Yesterday, Goulding posted an image on Instagram of her leaving the Abbey Road Studios in London, with the caption “That’s a wrap!”
