Resident Evil 4 HD Mod Improves Textures on PC

Resident Evil has been getting a lot of HD love lately, with the Resident Evil HD Remaster, the announcement of Resident Evil Zero's upcoming HD remaster, and recent talk of Resident Evil 2 possibly getting a remake as well. Now, two modders are working on their own graphical improvements for the PC version of Resident Evil 4.

Check out the slideshow of improved textures below.

The mod is being made specifically for Resident Evil 4 Ultimate HD Edition, which launched on PC in 2014. An HD mod for an HD remaster may seem odd, but the modding duo Cris and Albert have their reasons.

"With the release of the Ultimate HD version, we have confirmation that while some textures have been upgraded, the majority haven’t," states the Resident Evil 4 HD Project's website. "It seems safe to say that an official 100% across-the-board HD revamp of the game isn’t coming anytime soon, so now is the time to do this."

Ron Perlman Doesn’t Want to Make Hellboy 3, But…

Ron Perlman would really rather not don the Hellboy getup again, but that doesn't mean he won't.

/Film reports Perlman has been pushing studios to make Hellboy 3, and explained why after a Television Critics Association panel for his new series Hand of God. He says there's a sense of obligation behind it, even if he doesn't enjoy the experience.

"Let me make the record clear," he said. "I don’t want to do Hellboy 3. It’s a pain in the ass to put that makeup on and take it off. But I feel we’re obligated to finish the story. That’s it. End of conversation."

He went on to explain why he's been so vocal, saying he's trying to force the conversation around it. "We’re in the business of moving mountains. Those of us who are used to working in mainstream film and television," he said. "Don’t come to me with details and problems. Just tell me how we move the mountain."

Some ISPs Claiming Net Neutrality Unlawful

A group of internet service providers, including AT&T and Verizon, filed a brief with the Federal Communications Commission arguing the recently passed "net neutrality" laws should be overturned.

The petition argues that under Title 47 of U.S. Code, Congress exempted broadband Internet access from the very common-carrier regulation under Title II of the Communications Act that the FCC claims give it the authority to enact net neutrality.

The fairly dense document argues that ISPs, and the services they provide, have no relation to "heavy-handed, public-utility-style regulation designed for 19th-century railroads and 1930s telephone monopolies," and broadband internet services provide information services rather than telecommunication services.
