Twitch Plays Dark Souls Defeats Ornstein and Smough
With the help of a system that pauses the game until Twitch users can vote on the next command, Twitch Plays Dark Souls has managed to defeat the iconic Anor Londo-based duo, Ornstein & Smough.
Equipped with the Zweihander, Eagle Shield, Ring of Favor & Protection, and the Wolf Ring, the crowd-players took down Ornstein first before moving on to Smough. Near the very end of the battle, the player manages to get the last few hits in on Smough with no Estus Flasks left and very low health.
You can see an edited version of the fight, which removes the pauses during voting, below.
Twitch Plays Dark Souls began about a month ago, a crowd-played event that challenged Twitch viewers to cooperatively play Dark Souls using real-time chat commands.
Marvel’s Star Wars Comics Are Impressive, Most Impressive
There’s a scene in Jason Aaron and John Cassaday’s Star Wars comic series where Luke Skywalker crosses paths with Darth Vader for the first time after he blew up the Death Star. Luke is understandably pissed and lets Vader know it: “You killed my father,” he tells him, gripping his ignited lightsaber.
Now, this scene is problematic for multiple reasons -- the second issue feels far too soon for Luke to meet Vader, not to mention having Luke meet Vader between A New Hope and Empire Strikes Back saps the intense, emotional energy from their epic Cloud City duel.
But once I read the next line from Vader -- “I’ve killed very many fathers. You’ll have to be more specific.” -- I threw my head back cackling in delight at the surprising yet all-too-perfect response. Not unlike Emperor Palpatine might do. It was then that I knew the license to make Star Wars comics was in good hands at Marvel.

There’s a New Redhead in Iron Man’s Life
Marvel wasn't kidding when they teased that unexpected new characters would be joining the supporting cast in this fall's Invincible Iron Man relaunch. Today Marvel.com revealed that Spider-Man's ex-girlfriend Mary Jane Watson will be joining the book in December's Invincible Iron Man #4.
As with most things regarding the All-New, All-Different Marvel relaunch, the publisher isn't revealing the hows or whys of this big change yet. But with Tony Stark and Pepper Potts on the outs following the events of Superior Iron Man, it seems the time has come for a new redhead in Tony's life.
Why Scarlet Witch Loves Captain America: Civil War
Elizabeth Olsen, who played the Scarlet Witch in Avengers: Age of Ultron, has spoken about what it's like to work on the set of a Marvel movie, and how excited she is for Captain America: Civil War.
Speaking in an interview with Premiere.fr, Olsen said of her character the Scarlet Witch: "she's someone who's more powerful than she's able to control and she ends up going insane because of it." We're assuming she's talking about the character from the comic rather than the movie at this point. "She's like a wildcard, you never know if she's a hero or a villain."
