Batman: Arkham Knight has returned to Steam following a four-month absence caused by a mess of glitches, bugs and problems but unfortunately it doesn't seem that time can heal everything.
Less than 24 hours after the game returned, comments on Steam and Reddit reveal problems including stuttering, plummeting frame rates and freezing are still rife.
Psychological Thriller Town of Light Release Date Confirmed
Upcoming thriller The Town of Light will release on PC on February 26, 2016.
LKA.it, a new developer based in Italy, has pushed back the original Q4 2015, stating that the delay was necessary to ensure "the delivery of the initial team vision for the story and gameplay".
The first-person psychological thriller title takes place in an abandoned psychiatric asylum, Volterra. You play as Renee, a then-16-year-old who'd been a resident at the hospital when she was experiencing schizophrenia.
“Since The Town of Light is our first project we want to make sure to use all the time available to make all the game mechanics work perfectly. It was not an easy decision, but we are sure it is the best one for the game and for the players," said Luca Dalcò, creative director.
GTA Online Halloween Update Bringing Hearses, Masks and Mode
Rockstar has revealed a Halloween update is set to hit GTA Online today, lasting until the end of November 16.
Halloween Surprise will introduce two new vehicles in the shape of the Lurcher Hearse and Franken Stange, while 20 spooky Bobbleheads that can be added to the dash of any customisable Lowrider will also join the party.
The main draw of Halloween is, of course, dressing up and so naturally a wide range of new Monster Masks added, while Halloween Masks will also be set as the default option for all Heists. 30 new Face Paints will also be added.
Finally, a new Adversary Mode called Slasher has been added for up to eight players. The mode sees all lights turned out, and players having to hide and fight to survive in the darkness, while the player chosen as the Slasher stalks everyone with a Shotgun. You'll be able to navigate with a Flashlight if you want, but in doing so will give away your own position. Surviving three minutes sees you net a shotgun to begin your own spree.
Eve Developer’s World of Darkness May Yet See Light of Day
Paradox Interactive has acquired White Wolf Publishing from EVE developer CCP Games.
In purchasing White Wolf, Paradox now owns and manages the following IPs: World of Darkness, Vampire: The Masquerade, and Werewolf: The Apocalypse.
We’re told, White Wolf will continue to operate independently, and will have a dedicated team.
The publishing side of White Wolf is known for its tabletop and collectable card games, PC titles, and books. Having acquired White Wolf’s brands, Paradox says it will be seeking out development opportunities “across relevant categories of games under the White Wolf Publishing name.”
Fancy a trip down memory lane? Let’s do this: In our review of Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines, we said: “Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines is a much stronger game than the previous one in the series. It does the genre right, with character choices that effect the world, dialogue choices that effect your fate, and plenty of things to do and places to poke around in.”
Xbox Launches Recruitment Service for Halo
Xbox has launched Squadvertiser, a new tool to connect Halo players with compatible fireteams.
Personalised recruitment advertisements placed on Squadvertiser.com will be shared across Xbox's press, social, and digital spaces, helping "gamers get their squad's needs in front of millions of potential applicants."
Advertisers can personalise their requests by selecting from a range of visuals, player types, and other criteria, essentially creating "an official Halo ad to find the right squad members." A job board will also be available for those looking for a new clan or fireteam.
The website is now live and available across nine countries, including Brazil and the UK. We've reached out to Xbox for clarification on what countries will be able to participate in the project.
Don’t Expect Any Halo 5: Guardians Campaign DLC
Halo 5: Guardians won't be getting any campaign DLC, according to the game's creative director.
Speaking to Redbull, Josh Holmes confirmed the company is planning to support the multiplayer for years to come, though this will come at the expense of any additions to the game's story.
"While we're always looking for new ways to expand the Halo universe, we do not currently have any plans to release future campaign content for Halo 5: Guardians," he said.
The news is likely to come as a disappointment for some - there was hope we may see more of the story shown in the initial trailers via DLC, to counteract the accusations of misleading advertising faced by the game.
