Iron Banner to Return in Next Destiny Update
The Iron Banner is returning to Destiny next week in an all-new update.
Among the changes in the forthcoming update are tweaks to the rewards gained and the switch to Clash. According to developer Bungie's blog, this is the first time the Iron Banner has used Clash.
Senior Designer Derek Carroll took to the blog to explain what players can anticipate as part of the switch.
"I’d expect to see a bit less Super ability usage, and a lot more shooting across the board, but good teams will work together and hold territory even without the scoring incentives that Control provided," he said.
The same post outlined the following changes to the Iron Banner's rewards:
Neal Adams Homages Himself in 25 Comic Covers
Comic book legend Neal Adams will be the theme for DC's February variant covers. The twist? They'll all be drawn by Neal Adams.
came up with the idea that I was going to do a whole bunch of covers, right?" Adams recalled to us. "And they were all going to appear at the same time, and they're all going to be homages to this apparently legendary comic book artist. So I said, 'Who is the comic book artist?' They said, 'Uh... Neal Adams.'
'You guys have to be kidding? Really?' 'No, no! You'll do homages to your covers!' 'No, that's crazy!' 'No, it would be great! It'll be cool! Except each cover would have different characters for different books.' 'Really? Like, so Robin isn't dead, and Batman isn't over him? It's somebody else?' 'Yeah.' 'Oh!' These people are crazy. But it sounds like a great idea. So apparently we're doing that, and we're getting a different inker to ink each cover, which is crazy too. I don't know exactly how they're going to place them or how they're going to do them, but I will tell you this: I have penciled every single one of them, and they're in the hands of DC Comics. That's right. If this isn't the craziest, weirdest, most wonderful idea I've ever heard, I can't imagine what it is."
Adams’ Superman Will Be Handsome, Won’t Break Necks
Next February, comic book legend Neal Adams will be returning to the iconic character he hasn't written since 1978's Superman vs. Muhammad Ali in a new six-issue mini-series titled Superman: Coming of the Supermen. We got to read the first issue and conduct a phone interview with Adams to learn the details on what the story will be about, how he is approaching Superman after the character has been changed so much, and what it's like to return to Superman after so many years.
Adams will also be drawing 25 variant covers that will be released throughout February, with each one featuring an iconic cover of his redone with new characters.
