Console, PC, or Steam Machine, Which Offers the Best Value?
Gaming is an expensive hobby, there's no doubt about it. After sinking in the initial investment, the cost of games, subscriptions, and peripherals add to the growing price tag of gaming. If you aren't paying attention, you might find yourself spending a lot more than $400 just to take the next step in the evolution of gaming. So with so many choices out there right now, what platform, PC, Steam Machine, or console, offers the best value in gaming? Let's take a look.
We're going to be comparing the hardware of the PS4, Xbox One, Alienware Steam Machine, and a home-built PC. This obviously isn't a 1:1 comparison. While you can whittle down component costs on a custom PC through careful shopping, the other 3 have custom hardware as part of the packaged deal. The hypothetical PC we put together for comparison is better than a pre-built console in most areas, but lacks an optical drive and other pack-ins, and costs around $400-$430. The PC also doesn't include an OS. Linux doesn't cost anything but your time, but if you want Windows, add another $80-$200.
Naughty Dog Has ‘At Least One’ More Game for PS4
PlayStation 4 owners will get "at least one, maybe two" more games this console generation from the studio behind Uncharted 4: A Thief's End.
When asked about the studio's plans after Uncharted 4 and whether or not its next game will be out this console generation, Naughty Dog community strategist Arne Meyer told Finder: "I would hope so. I would hope we would release a game pretty soon.
"Yeah, our development cycles aren’t too long so and I have no idea how long this console generation really is going to last, but, yeah, there’s no doubt it should be in this console generation for sure."
Why Trainspotting 2 Has Taken 20 Years
Danny Boyle has been discussing his efforts to make a sequel to Trainspotting, explaining that following an aborted attempt 10 years ago, the time is now right to bring the cast and crew back together for more drug-fuelled fun.
“People’s relationship with it is very interesting. I can’t remember many other films where, when people come up to you, they talk about the character’s names. Not the actors who were playing them. They remember the actors who are playing them, but they don’t define it as ‘Oh, that part that Tom Cruise played.’ Or ‘Oh, that part that Leonardo DiCaprio played.’ They just remember the names. They talk to you as though they know these people. They talk about Begbie and Spud and… not just one name. They’re weird names as well, and not that easy to remember. So they have a personal relationship with it which is wonderful.

The Walking Dead’s Norman Reedus Clarifies That Final Moment
The Walking Dead has continued its non-linear storytelling for another week with "Always Accountable," moving the spotlight away from Alexandria to shine on Daryl (Norman Reedus), Sasha (Sonequa Martin-Green) and Abraham (Michael Cudlitz) as they deal with a new set of enemies. (Read our full review of the episode here.)
Reedus hopped on the phone with me to discuss Daryl's misadventure with these new characters and open up about the episode's walkie talkie cliffhanger. According to him, this week's story begins an intense arc on The Walking Dead.
"A lot happens in this episode that really kicks off future storylines, so I'm excited to get this one out there and be part of a big episode," Reedus said after we said our hellos. "It's just fun. From here on in, it's like we just jump off of a mountain top it's so fast and thrilling."
Power Rangers: Tommy’s Best Moments
Much has been said about Tommy Oliver (or Dr. Tommy Oliver from Power Rangers: Dino Thunder and beyond). Played by Jason David Frank, he’s the Wolverine of the Power Rangers: the best there is at what he does. Tommy’s been the backbone of the epic saga since his debut in “Green with Evil” way back in 1993, and his legacy lives on to this day. He’s a legend within the Power Rangers Universe and a legend to fans outside of it - the most enduring character of the show’s long history no matter what color he’s sporting.
To celebrate the legacy of Tommy Oliver, we’re taking a look at his best moments from Mighty Morphin all the way to Super Megaforce.
Tommy is infamously introduced as an evil Ranger under the spell of intergalactic sorceress supreme Rita Repulsa, acting as a thorn in Zordon’s side for the better part of five episodes. In the first of a long string of badass moments, Tommy (with the help of the Rangers, of course) would overcome Rita’s evil spell and cross over to the good side, cementing his place at the forefront of Power Rangers lore.
SPECTRE Smashes Records in China, UK’s Top Movie of 2015
SPECTRE, the 24th James Bond film, stayed the top movie at the North American box office in its second weekend with an estimated $34.5 million, according to Sony Pictures. That's a modest 50% drop from its debut last weekend. Its domestic total stands at $130.7 million.
Internationally, SPECTRE has already passed the half-billion mark. The Sam Mendes-directed film shattered records in China in its debut there this weekend, becoming the biggest opening weekend of all time for a 2D US film, the biggest opening three days of all time for any 2D US film, and the biggest Friday opening of all time for any 2D US film.
SPECTRE also toppled Jurassic World as the top movie in the UK for 2015.
Supergirl, NCIS: LA Episodes Replaced Due to Paris Attacks
CBS is pulling Monday night's episodes of Supergirl and NCIS: Los Angeles in the wake of last week's terrorist attacks in Paris.
The episodes, which featured terrorism-themed content, are being replaced "out of sensitivity and respect to the events that occurred," a CBS insider told TVLine.
The originally-planned episode of Supergirl, dubbed "How Does She Do It?" centered around bombings in National City and will be replaced by "Livewire," its Thanksgiving episode which was supposed to air next week.
Meanwhile, NCIS: Los Angeles' "Defectors" episode, which included ISIS recruitment of young women, is being replaced by "The Long Goodbye," which was originally set to air the first week of December.
Major League Baseball Unhappy With Fallout 4 Mod
A mod for Fallout 4 has added the jersey of famed Boston Red Sox slugger David Ortiz to the game, and Major League Baseball wants it stopped.
According to the Boston Globe, Texas resident Richie Branson created the mod to make the game feel more authentic. Branson told the Globe while many of Boston's most recognizable geographic and architectural pieces are included in the game, the lack of Red Sox jerseys was "the only thing missing," from Fallout 4.
