PS4 Sales Pass 30 Million Worldwide
Sony has today announced that the PlayStation 4 has sold through over 30.2 million units since its release in November, 2013. The figure is current as of November 22, a little over two years on from release.
The figure sees the PS4 continue to demonstrate the fastest and strongest growth in PlayStation hardware history, says Sony, meaning the PS4 is still outpacing the PS2 for now.
Sony notes the PS4 system is currently available in 124 countries and regions worldwide.
Sony revealed last month that the lifetime total of PS4s sold had risen to 29.3 million and, as a result of this overperformance, raised the forecasted number of PS4 consoles it expects to sell this year from 16.5 million to 17.5 million. Last year it sold 14.8 million.

Chris Hemsworth Reportedly Eyes Allan Quartermain Movie
Chris Hemsworth has possibly found his next franchise.
The Tracking Board reports that the Avenger is eyeing the role of Allan Quatermain, a big time huntsman who debuted in H.Rider Haggard’s 1885 novel King Solomon’s Mine.
Details of the plot are yet to be revealed, though Quatermain is no stranger to the big screen, and he's commonly regarded as one of the major influences behind Indiana Jones.
There have been recent attempts to create a contemporary version of Quatermain, including a languishing Dreamworks project starring Sam Worthington. Sean Connery played Quatermain in Alan Moore’s loosely adapted 2003 film of The League of Extraordinary Gentleman, but Hemsworth would obviously be stepping into the shoes of a much younger Quatermain.

Hemsworth Says Thor 3 Needs Guardians-esque Humor
Thor star Chris Hemsworth shared a few thoughts on Marvel's third Norse-centric film, saying he'd like to see Ragnarok take a page or two out of Guardian's of the Galaxy's playbook.
"I think
needs to be injected with that sort of smart wit and unexpected kind of humor, kind of what James Gunn came in and did with Guardians
," Hemsworth told Cinema Blend. "It was like off center and unpredictable, and I think we can definitely use a dose of that, you know?"
With Flight of the Conchords director Taika Waititi on board to helm the film for Marvel, Hemsworth has high hopes for Thor: Ragnarok, especially when it comes to delivering a humorous flick for the fans.
EarthBound Creator Has No Plans for Another Sequel
Creator Shigesato Itoi has confirmed that fans shouldn’t expect another entry in the Mother series (known as EarthBound in the West) from him.
Speaking to Game Watch Express (via Kotaku), Itoi explained that when he made Mother 3, “I thought I could do it, so I did it,” but added that the idea of making Mother 4 is “totally impossible.”
“Among big-time popstars, if they, you know, put out ten albums, around the fourth album, they can’t make very good songs,” he explained. “The albums sell, but everyone at the concerts wants to hear songs from those first three albums. Everyone.”
