The Latest Severed Trailer Shows Off Monsters, Progression, and Loot

Drinkbox Studios has a new trailer for its latest game to share with the world.

The game in question, Severed, looks to be a swipe-em-up dungeon crawler similar to Infinity Blade. The new trailer, along with its accompanying PlayStation Blog post, shows off new enemies, and a loot-based progression system.

"As you progress through the game’s dungeons, you’ll encounter more powerful boss monsters that each have unique abilities," says Drinkbox co-founder Graham Smith. "Severing these bosses will leave behind carcasses which Sasha can wear to gain abilities. "

Radio Shack Isn’t Gone, in Fact It Just Hired Nick Cannon as CCO

Actor and comedian Nick Cannon is now the Chief Creative Officer of Radio Shack.

Cannon made the announcement on his personal Twitter feed, expressing his excitement to let the world know he's "officially part of the fam." He further made it clear his love for Radio Shack in a Twitter reply, saying he and the company are "about to take it to the next level."

The next-level for Radio Shack is a focus on the Maker movement, something that seems like a natural fit for Radio Shack. Radio Shack filed for bankruptcy in February after failing to capture the imaginations of tech-minded consumers. As many as 2,400 locations were sold off, in addition to Radio Shack selling personal data on millions of former customers as part of its asset liquidation.

New Plot Details for Star Wars: The Force Awakens Emerge

Plot details remain murky at best for Star Wars: The Force Awakens, but a new long form feature on the film may have provided a few more clues. If you are sensitive to any new details on the film, please note that mild spoilers follow.

During a set visit, Rolling Stone's Brian Hiatt was allowed to sit in and watch director J.J. Abrams as he edited the film. During this time, he was able to catch glimpses of The Force Awakens, including parts that hint at major battles taking place throughout.

"Back at Bad Robot, I am permitted to watch Abrams editing the movie for precisely 20 minutes. That adds up to maybe a minute or two of actual footage. So I can confirm that there is a space battle in the film, featuring X-Wings and TIE fighters and something like a Death Star," Hiatt says.

Amazon Has Plans for Augmented Reality for the Living Room

A couple of patents recently granted to Amazon reveal the company has big plans for augmented reality that doesn't involve wearing a headset.

The first of the patents issued to the company on December 1, for "reflector-based depth mapping," details a system that would utilize a projector and single light source to map an entire room in 3D. It could be used to project an image onto a single surface, or to change the entire room. Users would then be able to interact with the environment using motion, gestures, or their voice.

Skullgirls Dev’s Indivisible Reaches Its $1.5 Million Crowdfunding Goal

Indivisible, the fantasy RPG from Skullgirls creators Lab Zero Games, has been funded.

The game's Indiegogo campaign currently sits at just under $1.6 million, making it the highest grossing gaming project on the crowdfunding platform ever.

The campaign was also a fixed one, meaning that Lab Zero would only receive donations if they reached their original $1.5 million goal. This is typically not the case on Indiegogo, which allows projects to keep whatever funding they receive regardless of the final tally. Given the restrictions, and the amount of money involved, this is an important moment for both the developer and its donation service of choice.

Cap 3: New Details on Black Panther’s MCU Debut

Black Panther will make his silver screen debut next year in Captain America: Civil War, and Chadwick Boseman has offered a few new details on his role as T’Challa ahead of its release.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Boseman discussed Civil War's central conflict and Black Panther's place in it, noting that while "ultimately some sides are taken," each of Marvel's mighty heroes "is actually on their own side."

Boseman also noted that T’Challa won't fall into the same petulant prince-esque pitfalls we saw with Thor. "The spoiled brat thing is never an option. He’s not in any way unaware of how important his role and his position is. I think he’s very much aware of the responsibility," he said.
