Peter Jackson Is Directing an Episode of Doctor Who

The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit director Peter Jackson has announced he will be helming an upcoming episode of Doctor Who.

Jackson revealed his involvement in the hit BBC television series in a video on Facebook. In it, the Doctor (Peter Capaldi) pays an unexpected visit to the director's home while Jackson chats with his daughter and polishes his Oscar trophies. And yes, that is a bookmarked copy of the Silmarillion sitting in front of him -- let the speculation commence!

The clip, which is done in the spirit of the show, also pokes a bit of fun at Jackson and his prior directorial work. See it by clicking the image below.

Kit Harington Talks MI-5 and How Game of Thrones Affects His Life

Kit Harington is best known for his work as Jon Snow on Game of Thrones, but the 28-year-old actor branched out to another well-known TV franchise when he signed on to play Will Holloway in Spooks: The Greater Good, released as MI-5 in the United States.

The movie picks up several years after the series finale of the British spy show Spooks, and stars a handful of actors from it, including Peter Firth, Tim McInnerny and Lara Pulver. Though Spooks: The Greater Good was released in May in the UK (read our review), Harington hopped on the phone to promote the upcoming US release of the project.

Flash/Arrow Crossover Event is This Week’s TV Highlight

An eclectic week here at the end of November as FOX's Gotham, Empire, Rosewood, and more are airing midseason finales and then vanishing for months while NBC's running a new live musical special and both Netflix and Amazon premiere new full seasons of original programming (not at the same time this week though).

But our big callout is the Flash/Arrow crossover event. This time the heroes of Starling City and Central City unite to take on the nefarious Vandal Savage (Casper Crump), who we know will play a big antagonistic role on The CW's upcoming spinoff series DC's Legends of Tomorrow. And with LoT premiering on January 21st, it's clear that this two-episode team up is meant to kickstart that series, building up the danger so as to set the stage for our new super-team.

WB Games Montreal Hiring for Two New DC Universe Games

Warner Bros. Games Montreal has two new DC Comics universe titles on the docket—and they’re hiring for both.

The studio who developed Batman: Arkham Origins posted an official call for applicants on its website, announcing the development of two AAA projects "focused on expanding the DC Comics universe in the interactive space." The jobs available range from software developers and programmers to artists and designers.

We reported in June on rumors of a new open-world game for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Still, no word yet on what the games might actually be. Another Batman game? Superman? Perhaps a tie-in with the Suicide Squad movie? Your guess is as good as ours.

PS4 Processor Unlocked to Provide More Power to Devs

Sony has unlocked more of PlayStation 4's CPU, providing additional power for game developers to work with.

According to the latest changelog notes for the system's FMOD audio middleware, which were posted on the Beyond3D forums, the seventh processing core of Sony's home console has been unlocked. "PS4 - Added FMOD_THREAD_CORE6 to allow access to the newly unlocked 7th core," the notes read.

Eurogamer has confirmed with its contacts that more processing power has indeed been unlocked and is now available for use by game developers. That said, the outlet was careful to note existing games won't take advantage of the extra power unless the title is updated with a patch to add support.

Check out the video below, courtesy of Unseen 64 and DidYouKnowGaming (via VG247) , which not only contains gameplay footage, but also assets and details on the game's development.

The title was in development for both both PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 at Studio Australia, with Blue Tongue joining the project to help with a PC version. There were also apparently plans to port the game to Wii U a bit later on in development.

The Buzz Lightyear Paladin Danse mod is now available to download on Nexusmods, but you'll need to do a bit of extra work to get him wearing his new armor.

buzz

First you'll need Paladin Danse as a follower, then you have to take a set of Buzz Lightyear power armor from one of the Prydwen stations. Next, trade the armor with Danse so he has it in his inventory, and then press T to equip it on him. If he's not already wearing the hood, then you'll have to type 'player.additem e1a39' to get it, and then equip it on him the same way as before.

Supergirl Gets Full-Season Order

Supergirl has been ordered for a full season, CBS has announced.

With seven additional episodes ordered on top of the initial 13, the new superhero series will produce 20 episodes in Season 1, rather than a typical 22 episodes. Supergirl was one of the last of the fall series to premiere this year, and recently, shorter season orders are becoming more common across many networks, including ABC's 16-episode order for The Muppets and The CW's order for 19 episodes of iZombie.
