MLB The Show 16 Announced

The next iteration in the MLB The Show series was announced today at PlayStation Experience keynote.

MLB The Show 16's cover feature Blue Jays' Josh Donaldson and the game comes in three editions. The MVP edition ($70 USD) and Digital Deluxe edition ($100 USD) include the following:

  • Steel book case (Physical edition only)
  • 5,000 stubs (Digital deluxe edition includes 11,000 stubs)
  • 1 Sponsor Pack
  • 10 Standard Packs (Digital deluxe edition includes 20 Standard Packs)
  • 31 PS4 MLB themed avatars
  • 1 Opening Day Pack (Digital deluxe edition includes 3 Opening Day Packs)

Fat Princess Adventures Launches Today

Fat Princess Adventures is available on PlayStation 4 today, announced during this weekend's PlayStation Experience. The sequel to the original Fat Princess, Fat Princess Adventures takes on a new direction as a co-op hack-and-slash.

Our preview of Fat Princess Adventures from last year called it "a chaotic good time."

Sony Announces 3 Games Coming to the PlayStation Family

During today's PlayStation Experience, Sony revealed a slew of games available today on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita.

First up, Bastion, the excellent adventure game from developer Super Giant Games is available today on Vita for $3.

Next, Sony announced the Bit.Trip HD package for $10, which will support cross buy.

Lastly Nuclear Throne, the roguelike shooter is coming to PlayStation 4 and Vita as well.

Brutal Revealed for PlayStation 4

During today's PlayStation Experience, Sony announced that a new game titled Brutal will be coming to PlayStation 4 in 2016. Developed by Stormcloud Games, the debut trailer showcased an action-brawler that's set in a Tron-like world comprised of Ascii art.

Star Wars: Isaac, Ridley Duet ‘Baby It’s Cold Outside’

Star Wars: The Force Awakens actors Oscar Isaac and Daisy Ridley showcased their singing skills by performing a duet to the tune of Frank Loesser's 1944 classic "Baby It's Cold Outside."

The performance was posted on the official Star Wars Twitter account at the request of a fan:

Boruto: Naruto the Movie Coming to Select Theaters

Boruto: Naruto the Movie is coming select theaters in the United States later this month for a special two-day event.

Eleven Arts and VIZ Media will be showing the animated feature on Sunday, December 13 at 12:55pm local time and again on Monday, December 14 at 7:00pm local time, Fathom Events announced.

The movie will be shown in approximately 200 theaters across the U.S. and will be presented in the original Japanese with English subtitles. Additionally, it will feature a special introduction from NYCC, with opening remarks from executive producer Masashi Kishimoto and Naruto voice actor Junko Takeuchi.

Carrie Fisher Thinks Slave Leia Merch Controversy Is ‘Stupid’

We heard a rumor back in November that Leia's slave bikini was being retired from merchandise and marketing. Carrie Fisher told the Wall Street Journal that she thinks "it's stupid."

The outrage regarding Leia's slave outfit exploded when a father's post went viral. The father was disgusted that Target would sell slave Leia merchandise, and he didn't want to explain the look to his young daughters.

"How about telling his daughter that the character is wearing that outfit not because she's chosen to wear it. She's been forced to wear it," Fisher told the LA Times. "She's a prisoner of a giant testicle who has a lot of saliva going on and she does not want to wear that thing and it's ultimately that chain, which you're now indicating is some sort of accessory to S&M, that is used to kill the giant saliva testicle…. That's asinine."

Ant-Man and Wasp Director Wants ‘Much Weirder’ Sequel

Ant-Man and the Wasp director Peyton Reed has shared a few new details on his vision for the film, saying he'd like to make a sequel that's "much weirder" than its predecessor.

"The goal is to keep what we really liked for the characters in the first one, but to make it a much weirder movie," Reed said during a recent Q&A (via Newsarama).

The director went on to discuss the importance of the partnership between Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) and Hope Van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly) in the comics, and how he plans to explore the pair's relationship in the film.

The Strangers 2 Announced for December 2016

The Strangers 2 will be released on December 2nd, 2016, Relativity Media has announced.

According to TheWrap, Strangers 2 will be one of five films the company releases next year, with The Disappointments Room coming on March 25, followed thereafter by Before I Wake on April 8, Kidnap on May 13 and Masterminds on September 30.

Deception director Marcel Langenegger was originally in negotiations to helm the sequel to 2008's well-received hit, The Strangers, but whether or not he's still involved in the project following Relativity's restructuring is unknown.

Sony/TriStar to Release Trainspotting 2

Sony’s TriStar Pictures has secured the rights to produce and distribute the long-awaited sequel to Danny Boyle's Trainspotting.

The currently untitled film will mark the return of Boyle as director, as well as Trainspotting screenwriter John Hodge. Additionally, the core cast of the 1996 original, including Ewan McGregor, Jonny Lee Miller, Ewen Bremner and Robert Carlyle will be returning to play Renton, Sick Boy, Spud and Begbie. There's no word yet on whether Kelly MacDonald will be back as Diane.
