Cumberbatch: From Sorcerer Supreme to The War Magician

Benedict Cumberbatch will star in The War Magician, a World War II drama based on the book of the same name.

We've been covering this story since 2003 when the film was first mentioned in the press. A director hasn't been named yet, but Gary Whitta (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, After Earth) will adapt David Fisher's book into a screenplay.

New Video Features Banter Between Rey and Han

Disney has released another official TV spot for Star Wars: The Force Awakens, which opens worldwide in less than two weeks.

The video below features more dialogue -- particularly a humorous exchange between Rey (Daisy Ridley) and Han Solo (Harrison Ford) -- as well as more of Finn in action.

Google Wants to Bring Fiber to Chicago and Los Angeles

Google is hoping to bring its fiber internet to two huge cities in the future: Chicago and Los Angeles.

On the official Google Fiber blog, director of fiber expansion Jill Szuchmacher explains that better, faster internet speeds in those cities could greatly help to "boost their creative cultures." From hundreds of small businesses in Chicago, to the indie musicians and YouTube stars living in L.A.

The pair of cities join 18 other areas that either have fiber internet, or are on the list of soon-to-be "fiber cities." Currently, fiber internet is live in Austin, TX; Provo, UT and Kansas City, MO, while other potential fiber cities include San Antonio, San Jose, Phoenix and Portland.

NBC Renews The Blacklist for Season 4

The Blacklist has been renewed for a fourth season, according to series creator Jon Bokenkamp.

In a podcast interview with The Blacklist: Exposed (via The Hollywood Reporter) Bokenkamp announced NBC's early renewal, saying: "We knew about that a while ago, it’s one of those things that’s hard to keep quiet. But yes, we’re renewed through the fourth season. Hopefully we don’t tank that out, we got a lot of story to tell."

The Blacklist now joins Blindspot, which NBC renewed for a second season last month. Both shows have been renewed a bit early, but considering the continuing popularity of the James Spader drama and Blindspot's high ratings, it's a logical move for the network.

Ant-Man and the Wasp to Be a Different Genre

Ant-Man and the Wasp will be a major departure from its predecessor. According to director Peyton Reed, the sequel will be a different genre entirely.

"I think there's probably going to be some aspects that maybe call back to the tone of this movie, but for Ant-Man and the Wasp, we have an entirely different template," Reed told CBR. "We know what that template is, and we have an entirely different genre template for that movie. But it's going to remain a surprise. But yes, that's already been decided."

Reed also discussed the involvement of screenwriter Adam McKay, confirming he'll be "back in some capacity," along with production writers Andrew Barrer and Gabriel Ferrari.

NECA Announce Solar-Powered Robin Bobble Toy

NECA has announced that Robin is the latest addition to its DC Comics Body Knockers line.

The solar-powered toy stands at 6” tall and rocks from side to side when exposed to light, meaning it shouldn’t move or make noise if stored away at night.

This is the latest addition to NECA's Body Knockers series. Unlike standard bobbleheads, Body Knockers heads' stay still while their bodies take on the appearance of dancing.

The Robin Body Knocker is set to release in January 2016, but the rest of the line is already available. The price varies depending on retailer, but it averages $15.00.

So Norman Reedus Was Bit by a Walking Dead Fan

Norman Reedus, the actor who plays Daryl Dixon on AMC's The Walking Dead, was bitten by a fan at a zombie convention this weekend.

According to TMZ, superfan Robin Grover bit Reedus on the chest during a photo op at Walker Stalker Con after informing the actor she likes to tell people the two are married. Security immediately restrained the woman and forced her to leave the convention.

While Reedus isn't pressing charges, he did post a hilarious response on Instagram (via Huffington Post) with the words "Do No Bite Me" plastered across his shirt and an accompanying caption that reads: "Um please don't."
