Assassin’s Creed ‘Empire’ Allegedly Launching in 2017
Update: Ubisoft has issued an official comment to IGN, stating, “We can’t comment on rumor or speculation. We’re always happy when players are excited about our games, past, present and future. In the meantime, we hope that the latest images from the Assassin’s Creed movie set will keep fans of the franchise happy and eager to find out more!”
The next Assassin's Creed will launch in 2017, according to Kotaku, whose sources allege that the next game is set in Egypt, leaving 2016 without a mainline AC release. The decision to delay the game -- codenamed 'Empire' -- was apparently made following the launch of Assassin's Creed Unity.

Hollywood’s 16 Biggest Gambles of 2016
There is a slew of IGN audience-friendly feature films hitting theaters in 2016. But rather than do a traditional January-December preview of the year's movie releases, we've opted to focus on sixteen particularly risky endeavors that Hollywood has in store in the months ahead.
Even though some of the films cited here may belong to beloved franchises, feature iconic characters, or are adapted from highly recognizable, branded properties, they are far from sure bets at the box office. Indeed, some of the below could make or break a studio's lofty dream for a shared universe, reinvigorating or continuing a franchise, or breaking a specific genre "curse" (at least commercially).
Better Call Saul: Season 2 Poster Revealed
Ahead of Better Call Saul's return to television next month, AMC has released the key art for Season 2.
If the new promo art for the critically acclaimed Breaking Bad spinoff is any indication, it looks like Jimmy McGill (Bob Odenkirk) has an uphill battle ahead of him in the show's next season.
Better Caul Saul: Season 2 premieres Monday, February 15 at 10/9c on AMC. While you patiently wait for its debut, find out what Odenkirk had to say about Jimmy's transformation in the upcoming season.
Watch the New Vikings: Season 4 Trailer
The return of Ragnar Lothrbok will soon be upon us, and he is coming for his revenge.
IGN is excited to debut the new trailer for Vikings: Season 4, and it promises plenty of power struggles are ahead. Watch the full trailer below.
Beyond the impending conflict between Ragnar and Rollo, Bjorn (Alexander Ludwig) is stepping up in Kattegat while Aslaug (Alyssa Sutherland) is pressing the Seer on whether a woman will succeed in power after Ragnar's eventual death. Meanwhile trouble is brewing in both Francia and England as the vikings plan another massive raid.
New Batman v Superman Figures May Contain Spoilers
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice may be two months away, but the film's toy line might already be giving away plot details. (SPOILERS may follow.)
A new three-pack of figures shows Lex Luthor alongside Superman and Batman, and the billionaire is donning a mechanized suit with tinges of green that look a lot like Kryptonite.
The packaging calls him Mega-Armored Lex Luthor, and he's got a blaster arm and Luthor logo to go with it.
Considering that an armored Lex suit hasn't been seen in any trailers or promotional shots yet, this might be a giveaway for director Zack Snyder's film, which already boasts a conflict between Batman and Superman, as well as an appearance by Doomsday.
Tomb Raider, Halo Sales Pass 1 Million
Halo 5: Guardians, Forza Motorsport 6, Gears of War: Ultimate Edition, and Rise of the Tomb Raider have each sold over one million copies on Xbox One.
The sales feat was announced on Xbox Wire in a post celebrating Xbox's record holiday season. The post added that the number of Xbox One gamers playing Microsoft-published games more than doubled compared to 2014.
Tomb Raider's milestone is impressive considering the Xbox timed-exclusive has yet to hit PlayStation 4 and PC. The PS4 version will release sometime during the 2016 holiday season, while the PC version is coming later this month on January 26.
Hacked PS4 Plays Pokemon
A team of hackers have demonstrated a low-level hack of the PlayStation 4 recently, and they managed to get Pokemon running on it.
Fail0verflow, the same group responsible for hacking the PlayStation 3, Wii, and Wii U bypassed the PS4’s security and installed a custom version of Linux. As seen in the video below at the 3:50 mark, a modded version of Pokemon Emerald called “Pokemon PlayStation Version” is shown running on the console.
In a blog post on fail0verflow’s website, the hackers noted the PS4 hardware does resemble PC hardware but “it is not a PC, and Linux needs quite a bit of extra work to get running.”
