Wonder Woman’s Mother Cast

Connie Nielsen (Gladiator, The Following, Boss) has been cast as Wonder Woman’s mother -- also known as Queen Hippolyta of the Amazons -- in the superheroine's currently shooting Warner Bros./DC Comics movie.

Gal Gadot, of course, stars as Wonder Woman, a.k.a. Princess Diana, while Chris Pine plays the epitome of Man’s World, Steve Trevor. Danny Huston, Robin Wright, David Thewlis and Ewen Bremner also star in the Patty Jenkins-helmed film.

Nicole Kidman was originally targeted for the role by the studio, but scheduling conflicts with her HBO show Big Little Lies made her involvement impossible. Though recently rumored for the part of Hippolyta, Wright is playing Diana’s aunt. (That means she’s probably Antiope.)

Fallout 4 Bug Will No Longer Dismember You

Fallout 4's latest update is currently in beta on Steam, pledging to fix a whole bunch of bugs. The beta, Bethesda stresses, "is a work in progress," so before opting in for testing, players should back up their games.

The update mainly fixes bugs and adds a new ambient occlusion setting, plus the ability to rotate objects using left and right triggers. Fallout 4 will also no longer dismember players while still alive. Bethesda has additionally fixed an issue with MacReady's Killshot perk—it now calculates properly—and fixed "an issue with settlement happiness calculations."

Mortal Kombat X Enhanced Online Beta Signups Begin Next Week

Mortal Kombat X's enhanced online beta signups will begin on January 19.

The closed public beta will help NetherRealm Studios "move away from the dynamic input latency model" toward one it says will more accurately preserve "the feel of an offline game" during online play.

The new model is similar to GGPO, which is described as a "rollback, simulate forward model." According to the announcement, it'll create a "smoother experience" and lessen "the feel of lag during online play."

Any player who has logged more than one hour online can sign up for testing using the online beta site, though NetherRealm's community specialist notes that not everyone will get a invite. However, the developer plans on introducing more players throughout the testing period.

The Division Will Have Free Post-Launch Content

Speaking at an event in Los Angeles last week, Creative Director of Ubisoft Massive Magnus Jansén announced that Tom Clancy's The Division will not only have post-launch DLC, but also free updates as well.

"An online game isn't done on release day. We've been working on this game for quite a while, and we're very happy to release it, but our work is not done then. We're gonna kick

off with a couple of free updates, new content and new features, and down the line we'll have normal DLC as well."

While specifics of what the updates and DLC would contain remained a mystery, Jansén committed to supporting The Division well after it's launch on March 8th. "We're not ready to go into detail, but we just wanted to let you know that we know that… you can't just abandon it when it's released, we know it takes a lot more than that."

Next Week’s Rock Band 4 DLC Features Grunge Legends

Monday's a holiday, so Rock Band 4 developer Harmonix is sharing next week's DLC a little early. On January 19, Rock Band 4 goes grunge.

Available for download in the Rock Band 4 store on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One are Soundgarden's "My Wave," Stone Temple Pilot's "Wicked Garden," and Temple of the Dog's "Hunger Strike." "Hunger Strike" features dual lead vocals from Chris Cornell and Eddie Vedder, which, according to Harmonix, makes for "great vocal gameplay," in addition to "phenomenal guitar, drum, and bass parts." Soundgarden's "My Wave" is from the band's hit album Superunknown, and Stone Temple Pilot's "Wicked Garden" has never been commercially released, though still considered "a career defining song."
