Story Details and Earning Characters In Street Fighter 5

Street Fighter 5 is going to have the most substantial story mode in the series history, Capcom revealed in a phone interview with IGN.

When it comes out on February 16, Street Fighter 5 will initially feature the kind of standard arcade story mode you've likely experienced before: you'll go through a series of arcade battles with a small amount of backstory for each character. However, that's just going to be the tip of the iceberg. This June, a free update will be released with over an hour's worth of cutscenes, detailing a much larger narrative. Watch the trailer above for an idea of what this will look like.

Capcom also shed a little light on how they'll be handling the earning of in-game currency, called Fight Money, for purchasing DLC characters down the line. Offline activities such as completing arcade or survival modes with different characters, as well as ranking them up individually will earn you Fight Money. Going through most of the offline content will net you enough to buy one new character, the first of which will show up in March. At that time, daily missions will be introduced to earn a steady stream of Fight Money going forward.

The developer has also been answering a few questions from fans. The sequel will have "no relation story-wise to Her Story," and in response to a question asking whether there would be live acting again, he said "I think it'd be rude not to."

Ant-Man Writer Open to Standalone Wasp Movie

Writer-director Adam McKay has been talking about his work with Marvel, saying that writing the first Ant-Man was a blast and stating that he’d be interested in Wasp getting a standalone movie.

However, while he’s game for writing forthcoming sequel Ant-Man and the Wasp, McKay revealed that he hasn’t yet been asked.

“I don’t know what my involvement’s going to be yet” he explained. “I’ve been talking to Peyton Reed and to

Rudd, but you know Marvel has a process that they do so they may have other writers working on a script – the only thing I tell ‘em is ‘If you need me, I’m here.’ I love working on those – it’s really fun. It was also very fun just writing. And fortunately we had a great director in Peyton Reed so we wrote all this crazy stuff and then he did it really well. I was like ‘I could get used to this!’ It’s certainly a lot easier – I just showed up at the premiere and was like ‘Good job!’”
