There’s still very little information out about Microsoft’s Hololens augmented reality (AR) headset, but today we get a glimpse into what the company thinks is possible with its technology. The company released a two minute ad showing off how we’ll be watching football in the future, just in time for Super Bowl 50.
Vin Diesel Reveals Fast and Furious 9 and 10 Release Dates
Fast and Furious actor Vin Diesel confirmed the dates for The Fast and The Furious 9 and 10 on Instagram—April 19, 2019, and April 2, 2021, respectively. The final trilogy kicks off April 14, 2017 with The Fast and The Furious 8.
Last year, Diesel announced he would "deliver one last trilogy to end the saga," which has spanned two decades. And while The Fast and The Furious proper will end in 2021, Diesel also confirmed spin-off films are currently in the works.
Green Ranger Embraces the Sword of Darkness New MMPR #0 Cover
Boom Studios is going to be putting out a third print of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers #0.
According to ComicBook.com, the publisher said the second printing is sold out at the distributor level, and it's not even out on shelves until February 17.
The image above shows off the new cover for the third printing of #0 by Goni Montes, in which Green Ranger has his hands on the Sword of Darkness.
Bungie Asks Destiny Fans If They’re Still Having Fun
Bungie has emailed registered players to ask if they're still enjoying Destiny.
The brief email asks: "How would you rate you most recent experience in Destiny?" Answers can be ranked 1-5, with 1 being Not Fun, and 5 being Very Fun.
In the recent Bungie Weekly Update, the Destiny team addressed several of the bigger events coming to the game, including the upcoming Crimson Days event.
Hideo Kojima and Guillermo del Toro to Present Keynote Address at DICE
Hideo Kojima and Guillermo del Toro have been confirmed as DICE Summit keynote speakers.
The Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences confirmed today that the Metal Gear Solid creator will be joining the film director on stage for the Thursday afternoon keynote address on February 18.
Kojima and del Toro were supposed to be collaborating on the cancelled Silent Hills project, but still plan to work together. Kojima had an up and down year before announcing a new partnership with Sony. Kojima will be inducted into the Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences' Hall of Fame this month.
Nintendo Uncertain About Future of Quality of Life Initiative
The future of Nintendo's heath platform is uncertain, according to company president and CEO Tatsumi Kimishima.
According to Asahi (via Kotaku), Kimishima's latest update to investors suggests the Quality of Life initiative may be abandoned. "It’s not yet at the level of a Nintendo product," he said. "If we can release it, we’ll release it. If we can’t, then we’ll examine things further."
Back in December, Kimishima reaffirmed Nintendo's QOL initiative is "still under development," so it's possible we'll still see the long-awaited health platform sometime in the future. That said, several analysts believe the company is quietly pushing the project aside in order to focus on the mobile game market.
CCP To Shut Down Shooter Dust 514
Publisher CCP has announced that PlayStation 3 shooter Dust 514 will be shutting on May 30, 2016.
On the official forum (via Eurogamer), CCP confirmed "with a heavy heart
Dust 514 will be shutting down". While players will be able to access servers until closure day, all scheduled updates have been cancelled and in-game purchases have been removed from PSN and disabled from the in-game marketplace.
"We are very proud of what we’ve learned and accomplished with DUST 514 on PlayStation 3 over the past three years and it is an honor to be a part of such a dedicated community," said CCP in a forum post earlier today. "We consider DUST 514 one of the best free-to-play offerings on the platform, but the years have caught up with us.
Cities: Skylines Snowfall Expansion Release Date Revealed
Paradox Interactive has announced that the next expansion for Cities: Skylines, titled Snowfall, will be released on February 18.
The new content introduces a temperature system and changing weather, new transportation options, and new winter parks and landmarks. It will cost $13.
Snowfall was announced earlier this month, and follows on from the After Dark expansion that was released last year.
In IGN's review of Cities: Skylines, we said that you should "expect to be impressed by the scale and many moving parts of this city-builder."
Gone Home EU and AUS Console Release Date Confirmed
The Fullbright Company has confirmed that Gone Home will be available for consoles in Europe from February 12, 2016.
The console edition was unexpectedly delayed in Europe and Australia "due to last-minute complications with ratings/cert".
