11 Awesome Batman v Superman Toys Coming This Year
With Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice only a month away, there was an awesome variety of merchandise on the show floor at Toy Fair in NYC this weekend.
DC announced a brand new line of action figures based on DC Entertainment films - the first few being Batman v Superman licensed. The figures feature up to 40 points of articulation and the first wave launches this fall with Batman and Superman from Dawn of Justice, as well as Zod and Faora from Man of Steel. Pokken Tournament Aims for More Pokemon, Less Tekken
Pokken Tournament, by the development team’s own admission, may have started life as a “Tekken engine
with some Pokemon characters” thrown in. But it most certainly didn’t end up that way.
“As we worked on it,” began development director and producer of the Tekken series Katsuhiro Harada, “We knew we wanted to show off the Pokemon, and that led to implementing the
Field Phase, and we just really realized quickly in that prototype phase that we needed to just kind of create this whole thing from scratch. We even built an entire new rendering engine, and kind of came up with and entire new battle system for it.
“But it really is just built from the ground up for this entirely new type of fighting game.”
Geoff Johns Likens DC’s Rebirth to Star Wars
With the cat finally out of the bag as far as DC Rebirth is concerned, DC Chief Creative Officer spoke to Comic Book Resources about the motivation behind this massive comic book relaunch and how it'll reshape the DC Universe moving forward.

In his interview with CBR, Johns was candid about what he sees as some of the mistakes that have been made in recent years and his desire to build the DCU into something bigger. "I've been a fan for years -- I have over 60,000 comics and 99 percent of them are DC Comics. I really see this as an opportunity, and like I've said before, take all the characters and thematics that we love -- from the past and the present -- and build a story that brought them all together, revealed new secrets and truths and mysteries, and moved it all ahead. Again, as someone who absolutely loves the DC Universe, to me it's maybe lost some things. Not only characters, but more intangibles. Some essence to what makes the 'DC Universe' unique and brilliant and unpredictable. And every single character matters -- from Batman to Cassandra Cain to John Stewart to Saturn Girl to Blue Beetle to Lois Lane-- everyone is someone's favorite. And in comics, anything's possible."
Emily Blunt May Star in Mary Poppins Sequel
Emily Blunt (Edge of Tomorrow, The Devil Wears Prada) is reportedly in talks to star in Disney's upcoming Mary Poppins sequel.
The casting would reunite Blunt with producers John DeLuca and Marc Platt, and director Rob Marshall. Blunt has been Disney's top choice to play Poppins ever since the foursome worked together on Into the Woods, according to Variety.

Geoff Johns to Depart Justice League
Geoff Johns’ last issue of Justice League will be Issue #50, which will wrap up the Darkseid War that has been raging since Issue #40. Current Justice League artist Jason Fabok will also be departing the book.
Johns told CBR that he wanted to leave the book with Fabok on a high note so that he could focus on writing DC Universe: Rebirth #1, an 80-page one-shot issue that will set the tone for the DC Comics line going forward. Rebirth will be illustrated by artists Ethan Van Sciver, Ivan Reis, Gary Frank and Phil Jimenez.
Johns has been on Justice League since 2011, then drawn by artist Jim Lee, where it was the flagship book of the New 52. During his run, he teased a follow up to the Aquaman-centric storyline “Throne of Atlantis” that would be called “Rise of the Seven Seas,” a story that fans have ceaselessly asked him about, so it remains a question as to whether he’ll find a way to tell that story in some form despite not being on the book anymore.
DC’s Rebirth Will See Comics Line Restart at #1
DC finally revealed their plans for the "DC Rebirth" relaunch at the ComicsPRO retailer meeting in Portland, OR today. Look for DC's entire superhero lineup to be relaunched with a new slate of books.
Rebirth will kick off on May 25 with the release of an 80-page standalone comic called DC Universe: Rebirth #1, which will be written by Geoff Johns and feature art from Ethan Van Sciver, Phil Jimenez, Ivan Reis and Gary Frank. From there, DC will launch 32 new ongoing series (15 shipping once-a-month and 17 shipping twice-a-month). Following an introductory DC Rebirth special, each of these new series will start over with #1 (with the exception of Action Comics and Detective Comics, which will revert to their pre-New 52 numbering). All of these books will have a cover price of $2.99, recalling DC's "Hold the Line at $2.99" promotion from several years ago.

Imprinting "cats rule and dogs drool" on us for all time, Sally Field's adorable Sassy was the unsung hero of the Homeward Bound crew. The Himalayan cat was able to overcome the (unfair) stereotypes placed upon her by Chance the Bulldog and prove to be a valuable, if feisty and demanding, asset in the trio's journey back to their family.

WaterTower Music has released a preview of one of the tracks on the upcoming soundtrack for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, which you can listen to below.
The track is called "The Red Capes Are Coming," which a line spoken by Jesse Eisenberg's villain Lex Luthor in one of the film's trailers.
The soundtrack -- which is now available for pre-order online and will be released March 18 -- was composed by the dynamic duo of Hans Zimmer and Junkie XL (aka Tom Holkenborg).
Apple Introduces New iPhone Trade-in Program
Apple is providing smartphone owners yet another way to buy an iPhone.
Starting today, and currently only available in Apple Stores, Apple's Trade Up With Installments program gives people the option of trading in their old iPhone and pay a monthly fee that's cheaper than the company's ongoing iPhone upgrade plan. According to USA Today, even older devices like the iPhone 4 are eligible for trade-in.
The new program works like this: You decide to upgrade from your iPhone 6 to the iPhone 6S, and the resulting monthly payment ends up being about $15 for 24 months. Or, if you're going from the aforementioned iPhone 4 to the 128 GB iPhone 6S Plus, you'll end up paying roughly $35/month. There aren't exact prices available for how the trade-up will work, but you'll basically be paying around $15 if you're going from one iPhone to the one that directly succeeded it.
Hawkeye/Black Canary Artist’s Limitless Comic Images
Tuesday night's Limitless will be a doozy for Eddie Morra's deadly representative Mr. Sands (Colin Salmon), as we finally learn the truth about his dangerous past. But as Sands tells Brian Finch (Jake McDorman) his story, Brian's NZT-fueled brain cooks up a heightened version of the tale, with each new facet of it shown in comic book panels -- and IGN has exclusive preview images of illustrations by comic book artist Annie Wu (Hawkeye, Black Canary).
Original drawings were commissioned for the episode from famed comic artists Wu, Robbi Rodriguez (Spider-Gwen), Babs Tarr (Batgirl), Andrew Robinson (Dusty Star), Joe Suitor (Spider-Man: Fear Itself), Mark Bright (Green Lantern: Emerald Dawn) and Nick Pitarra (The Manhattan Projects).
