Inside the Minds of The Magicians’ Two Scene-Stealers

It's hard not to love Margo and Eliot on The Magicians. The two were immediately charming as the Syfy series' comedic relief, but by the time the most recent episode aired, "Impractical Applications," it was clear there was something deeper in the two Brakebills students.

Summer Bishil and Hale Appleman know the reason behind their characters' easy chemistry on the page: showrunners Sera Gamble and John McNamara say they're very much Margo and Eliot in real life. (Gamble says she's Eliot and McNamara says he's Margo, for the record.) But it's a testament to the bond and understanding between Bishil and Appleman that the pair pop off the screen in every scene they're in and are The Magicians' most reliable scene-stealers.

Jay and Silent Bob Game Announced

Fans of Kevin Smith's slacker universe can get excited today, as developer Interabang Entertainment is launching a Fig campaign today for a Jay and Silent Bob game called Jay and Silent Bob: Chronic Blunt Punch.

A 2.5-D beat-'em-up in the style of Streets of Rage and Double Dragon, Chronic Blunt Punch will let you and a friend step into the shoes of Jay and Silent Bob as they fight their way through hordes of enemies.

The two stars are trapped in a massive mall looking for their loyal chronic customers, and have to fight their way through this strange mega-mall to find them. True to the series, Jay and Silent Bob can add insult to injury with what Interabang call the Convo Combat system. You can match phrases for "Yo Momma"-style insults while comboing with your fists for double the effect.

Arrow: Stephen Amell on Whether Darhk’s Gone Too Far

You’ll be seeing a lot of Stephen Amell as Oliver Queen on TV this week, though it will include two dramatically different versions of Green Arrow.

On Wednesday, in Arrow, Oliver will discover that Damien Darhk (Neal McDonough) has taken his son, William. That big episode also includes the live-action debut of Vixen (Megalyn Echikunwoke), after the character was introduced in animation last year.

Amell will then appear the very next night on DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, as the Legends team finds themselves in 2046, where they encounter an older and notably altered Oliver.

With so much underway in the Arrow-verse, I had a lengthy conversation with Amell about both series.

Real-Life Call of Duty Looks Nuts in Grimsby

Sacha Baron Cohen's new film Grimsby hits UK cinemas on the 24th of February and we've got hold of a brand new clip featuring our favourite baldy hard-man, Mark Strong. We spoke to Mr Cohen recently and he told us they actually used Call of Duty to plan these first-person scenes and even opted to use actual COD gameplay to storyboard the action sequences. Looks pretty familiar, right?

You can check out Grimsby in the UK from February 24th or on March the 11th in the US where it's known as The Brothers Grimsby. Presumably because nobody in America appreciates the majestic beauty of Eastern England.

New Class Revealed for Blade & Soul

NCSoft has revealed the next class coming to Blade & Soul: the Warlock.

The Warlock will be coming on March 2 along with the Unchained update. It will be a ranged class "with great power but considerable fragility."

Its iconic aspect is the ability to summon a Thrall to the field which lasts for a short time but is able to engage enemies, thus protecting the Warlock. The new class' main damage dealing abilities are Dragoncall and Wingstorm, and its combos are designed to either reduce or reset the cooldowns on these spells.

The Warlock will also be applying afflictions to enemies, as well as supporting its party with handy buffing abilities.

Over on the Blade & Soul website, you'll be able to find examples of common combos that the Warlock can employ to defeat its foes.
