Munn on Psylocke’s Future and Why Deadpool Succeeded
Although Olivia Munn is not entirely sure what's next for Psylocke—the character she plays in Marvel's X-Men: Apocalypse—she is excited for fans to see how "strong and lethal" her character is in the upcoming film.
.@OliviaMunn can't wait for the world to see her as Psylocke in X-Men: Apocalypse. https://t.co/FIKDcvSVdZ

As Munn has previously demonstrated, Psylocke has serious skills with a sword. In fact, the X-Men actress stopped by IGN's office earlier in February to showcase how well she can swing a blade. Speaking to MTV News on the Oscars red carpet, Munn implied lots more of that would be shown in the movie.
Overwatch: The Shooter You’re Helping to Create
Modern game development can be a very collaborative process. We now live in an age of open and closed betas, where gamers are regularly given the opportunity to play works in progress and help developers make the final product better. Blizzard has very much embraced this approach in recent years, and the development of its new shooter, Overwatch, is another good example.
“I’d say one of the top things that we heard about
was the desire for a new game mode,” says game director Jeff Kaplan. “We were, for a long time, experimenting with this Control game mode, and then when the feedback started to bubble up… that people were very interested in seeing more, we accelerated the process and we basically doubled down on it. Originally, the new game mode was going to come in very late: for launch or maybe post-launch. What we did is we said, ‘Hey, it’s working. We think it’s fun. We feel like it’s something based on feedback we should get in sooner rather than later.’”
Daisy Ridley Says ‘Luke Is So Cool’ in Episode 8
Daisy Ridley is really excited about Star Wars: Episode VIII. Ridley—who plays Rey in Star Wars: The Force Awakens—says working with Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker) on the film has been "amazing."
"Me and Mark have been rehearsing a lot, and it's really amazing," Ridley told MTV News on the Oscars red carpet Sunday. "We we went back to Skellig
to do the opening of
VIII, it was crazy doing the same scene with a different crew of people."
She mentioned the film isn't just two hours of Rey and Luke staring at each other, but she is "very excited to be doing the rest of the stuff."
68 Photos From Nintendo’s Gorgeous New Store
Nintendo's newly renovated flagship store has opened in New York City. The location was formerly known as the Nintendo World Store, but closed down for renovations and rebranding as "Nintendo NY."
The Nintendo World Store closed January 19 and reopened February 19 as Nintendo NY. The newly-named and newly-designed location in Rockefeller Center is still the geographic center of the Western Nintendo retail world. More than just a place to pick up Nintendo wares, however, Nintendo NY is a mecca of sorts for Nintendo fans.
If you're a Nintendo lover, retro gamer, or Pokefan, there's plenty to see at the new Nintendo NY location. From classic Nintendo consoles to game design documents, to Pokemon, Pokemon, and more Pokemon, it's like a Nintendo dream factory made gloriously real.
Apple Wins Ruling in New York iPhone Hacking Order
Apple won a New York case over the U.S. government's request to access one of its user's iPhones.
The New York Times reports Magistrate Judge James Orenstein ruled in Apple's favor during a drug case. Said case saw the federal government citing the All Writs Act. The act has been used in the past to acquire data in suspected criminal cases.
This time, however, Orenstein said "none of those factors justifies imposing on Apple the obligation to assist the government’s investigation against its will."
The All Writs Act is the very same source of conflict between Apple and the FBI around a domestic terror attack in San Bernardino, California. In that case, the government is also requesting a sort of backdoor-access through Apple security, which goes well beyond the wording of the 1911 act.
These Guys Made The Revenant First
It struck me that four of the movies nominated for Best Picture at this year's Academy Awards have all had their stories essentially explored on the big and small screens before.
Let's take The Revenant. Inspired by true events and Michael Punke's novel of the same name, the film chronicles the almost unimaginable ordeal of fur trapper Hugh Glass (Leonardo DiCaprio), who was mauled by a grizzly bear and left for dead by his men in the frozen wilderness of 1823 America ... only to survive and then seek his revenge.
Leo won an Oscar for The Revenant as did the film's director Alejandro G. Iñárritu and cinematographer Emmanuel Lubezki. But you've probably never heard of Man in the Wilderness, a 1971 western that starred the original Dumbledore, Richard Harris, as a fictionalized version of Hugh Glass.

Production on Saban and Lionsgate's upcoming Power Rangers movie is officially underway, as the companies announced production kicked off today in Vancouver.
Here's an outline of the film, courtesy of Lionsgate:
"Saban’s Power Rangers follows five ordinary high school kids who must become something extraordinary when they learn that their small town of Angel Grove – and the world – is on the verge of being obliterated by an alien threat. Chosen by destiny, our heroes quickly discover that they are the only ones who can save the planet. But to do so they will have to overcome their real-life issues and band together as the Power Rangers before it is too late."
Power Rangers stars Dacre Montgomery as the Red Ranger, RJ Cyler as the Blue Ranger, Naomi Scott as the Pink Ranger, Becky G as the Yellow Ranger, Ludi Lin as the Black Ranger, and Elizabeth Banks as villain Rita Repulsa.
What Is #29DaysOfBlackCosplay?
Alongside Black History Month, a community of cosplayers have created the hashtag #29DaysOfBlackCosplay to highlight cosplay diversity.
Chaka Cumberbatch, a cosplayer and advocate for diversity in the geek community, told IGN, "This is about lifting each other up instead of waiting for anyone to do it for us. It's about giving light to black cosplayers of all ages, shapes, skill levels and sizes. It's about making this community a little more welcoming than it was when we came into it. And most of all - it's about positivity. Many (if not all) of the cosplayers taking part in the campaign this month have had negative experiences while cosplaying due to our race. This is us taking those lemons and making about a gallon of lemonade."
