Miitomo Debuts at Number 2 in the App Store
Nintendo's first mobile app just debuted at number two on the Japanese iOS App Store.
A quick search for the software, which just launched in Japan, reveals it's currently only beat out by Puzzle & Dragons Radar.
Our own Miitomo preview explains the free social application has a lot in common with another Nintendo product: 3DS game Tomodachi Life. Though silly, Miitomo features a greater focus on communicating through Nintendo Miis than outright fun and games.
Unfortunately, the Japanese App Store is currently our only measure of success for Miitomo. The app hasn't launched in outside territories just yet, but is currently scheduled to exit Japan at the end of this month.

Lawbreakers Is No Longer Free-to-Play
LawBreakers, the upcoming game from Gears of War designer Cliff Bleszinski's new studio, is no longer free-to-play.
The news comes out of GDC 2016. At a presentation called "Surrounded by 800lb Gorillas! Standing Up to the Competition" Bleszinski explained that the business model simply "wasn't the right fit" for the game.
He described certain free-to-play mechanics, like a limited energy system, as "sleazy," and the sort of thing that might make players "think they'll get ripped off." As for selling characters, Bleszinski described the number of classes as similar to Team Fortress. Adding more just to sell would have limited their depth. Boss Key Productions did reveal several new LawBreakers characters last year.

Oculus Touch Controllers Were Never Meant to Launch With The Rift
When people get their hands on the Oculus Rift this month, they'll receive the headset, sensor, Oculus Remote, cables, an Xbox One Controller and two games (EVE: Valkyrie and Lucky's Tale) for $600. Missing from the package will be the Oculus Touch controllers, which won't see a release until the second half of 2016.
According to Oculus co-founder Palmer Luckey, speaking to Ars Technica at the Game Developers Conference, the Touch controllers and the Rift were never intended to debut alongside one another, and separate launches was always the plan.
