Lobo Film Moves Forward With Wonder Woman Writer

Wonder Woman screenwriter Jason Fuchs has signed on with Warner Bros. to pen the script for the studio's upcoming Lobo movie.

According to TheWrap, insiders claim Fuchs "will start from scratch" and use his own unique take on the DC character. For those unfamiliar with the comic, Lobo centers around an alien of the same name, who works as an interstellar bounty hunter and mercenary.

Blizzard Details Overwatch’s Expanded Universe

With Overwatch's release date approaching, Blizzard has shared the details of its expanded universe. In March, the developer will release the first of its Overwatch animated shorts, followed shortly by its digital comic shorts and graphic novel.

Blizzard first revealed its plans for a series of animated shorts at last year's Blizzcon. They'll release periodically leading up to Overwatch's release. With them, Blizzard will explore the game's "most iconic heroes," revealing the future those heroes are fighting for.

Blizzard's Overwatch digital comic shorts will also release for free as the game ramps up. McCree, the game's vigilante gunslinger, is the star of the first series of comic shorts, which debuts in April. In the following comic shorts fans will learn about a bunch of other heroes, like the criminal duo of Roadhog and Junkrat, and Reheinhardt, "Overwatch's knight from a bygone era."

Fallout 4 Director: Workshop Popularity Was the ‘Biggest Surprise’

Out of the many changes made in Fallout 4, there's one aspect whose popularity surprised the development team at Bethesda the most.

Speaking with IGN, Fallout 4 director Todd Howard revealed he and the others had not necessarily expected the popularity of customizable workshops and bases.

"I think the Workshop stuff was the biggest surprise for us, in that...how many people gravitated toward it as its own game and are doing all sorts of crazy things with it," Howard said, adding the popularity had encouraged them to target further customization options in future DLC releases alongside traditional quest and challenge updates.

The Gender-Bent Mortal Kombat Cosplay You Never Knew You Wanted

Mortal Kombat XL released at the start of this month, but this awesome cosplay makes us wish it came with a gender-bent Kotal Kahn character skin, too.

Australian cosplayer Yeliz Cosplay told IGN that her costume took around 30 hours of "blood, sweat, and tears" to create. She said, "The biggest challenge overall would have to be the headdress. It was hard to figure out the exact shape of my head, so I used a mannequin's head as a model. It was a lot of cutting and reshaping to get it right."

Yeliz said, "I cosplay because it allows me to show my love for video games, especially those that have given me an unforgettable experience. I love cosplaying, it lets me transform into something or someone different."

Microsoft Announces Xbox Live Tournament Platform

Microsoft introduced its Xbox Live Tournaments Program, a new initiative allowing game developers to run "easy to integrate tournaments" through Xbox Live.

Jason Ronald, head of the Xbox Advanced Technology Group, announced the program today at the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco. According to The Verge, the Xbox Live Tournaments Program will be supported on Xbox One and Windows 10, creating "a cohesive experience" using the Universal Windows Platform.

The new kit is part of Microsoft's ongoing esports efforts—which include the Xbox One Elite Controller for pro-gaming—to foster the growing esports community on Xbox Live. "Esports is not a new trend. It's not a new fad. It's very clearly here to stay," Ronald said. "If you're a developer that's already used to running your own tournaments, you can run your own tournaments. Everything from small, community-driven events," to larger, professional tournaments.

Will Forte to Star in Netflix’s National Lampoon Biopic

One of the co-founders of National Lampoon will be played by Will Forte in an upcoming biopic.

THR reports that Forte will portray Doug Kenney in the film, titled A Futile and Stupid Gesture. He's teaming up with David Wain, co-creator of Wet Hot American Summer, and the two are in negotiations to bring it to Netflix.

The script will adapt the 2006 book of the same name by Michael Colton and John Aboud. It details the story of Kenney's journey from editor of the Harvard Lampoon to the launch of National Lampoon, the resulting fame and fortune, and ultimately his possible suicide at age 33.

Person of Interest Ending With Season 5; Premiere Date Revealed

With the premiere date finally announced for Person of Interest: Season 5, IGN can confirm that this will indeed be the final season for the ever-cool and compelling series.

Person of Interest's season premiere airs Tuesday, May 3rd at 10:00pm ET/PT. After the premiere, POI will air new episodes twice a week – on both Mondays and Tuesdays at 10:00pm, beginning with a new episode on Monday, May 9th. Season 5 is comprised of thirteen episodes in total.

Said Person of Interest executive producers Jonathan Nolan and Greg Plageman, in a statement to IGN about the show's conclusion:

"We’re extremely excited to be able share this final season with the fans. We’re eternally grateful to our amazing cast and crew, as well as our partners at the studio and network. This crossover will focus on the three-way conflict between the original Apocalypse, his heir, Archangel, and his teenage clone, Genesis. This issue laid the groundwork by pitting the X-Men against Sugar Man, the grotesque villain from the Age of Apocalypse universe who crossed over to the regular Marvel Universe to continue his experiments. It seems Sugar Man has managed to clone hundreds of new mutant embryos that are safely isolated from the roaming Terrigen Mist cloud that's been devastating the mutant race lately.

Supergirl / The Flash Crossover Photos Revealed

CBS has released the first episode official images from the upcoming Supergirl and The Flash crossover episode, "Worlds Finest."

The stills show Grant Gustin's Barry Allen and Melissa Benoist's Supergirl alongside one another, both in and out of their superhero costumes.

Meanwhile, CBS recently debuted a 10-second teaser for the crossover episode. You can watch it below:

The synopsis for "Worlds Finest" reads: "Kara (Melissa Benoist) gains a new ally when the lightning-fast superhero The Flash (Grant Gustin) suddenly appears from an alternate universe and helps Kara battle Siobhan, aka Silver Banshee (Italia Ricci), and Livewire (Brit Morgan) in exchange for her help in finding a way to return him home."

PS4’s Rime No Longer Published By Sony

Sony is no longer publishing the PS4 exclusive Rime.

In a statement released today, developer Tequila Works said it has "chosen to reacquire the rights to its open world adventure game, RiME, and is working hard to realise its aspirations for it."

Sony announced Rime as a PlayStation 4 exclusive at Gamescom 2013. Eventually, it came to light that Microsoft passed on Rime before it went to Sony.

Tequila Works' previous game, Deadlight, was published by Microsoft and exclusive to Xbox 360 and PC.
