Dan Harmon to Produce Movie on Michael Jackson’s Chimp

Bubbles, a film about Michael Jackson's pet chimpanzee of the same name, is being produced by Community creator and writer Dan Harmon.

According to Deadline, Isaac Adamson's script was acquired by Andrew Kortschak and End Cue, and will be made into a stop-motion animated film "in the spirit of Anomalisa," which was executive produced by Harmon and received an Oscar nomination for Best Animated Film.

Firewatch Sells Half a Million Copies in First Month

Firewatch has sold around 500,000 copies since its release on February 9, publisher Panic Inc. announced.

While the budget for the adventure game was a “huge” investment for Panic, strong initial sales helped the publisher make its money back in about a day, the company said in a blog post.

What’s more, the game's Fotodome feature, which allows players to snap in-game photos and upload them to a server for physical printing, has seen 214,802 photos uploaded so far, and the publisher has sent out well over 1,000 sets.

Netflix Pays Big Bucks for Will Smith Cop Fantasy

After two weeks of bidding, Netflix has reportedly won the rights to Will Smith and Suicide Squad director David Ayer's fantasy cop thriller, Bright, for $90 million USD.

As Deadline reports, the film will cost $45 million to shoot, with an additional $45 million going towards talent salaries and buying out the actors' back-end fees. Netflix also paid $3 million for Chronicle scribe Max Landis' screenplay -- a massive amount for a spec script.

As the report states, the film may still see a limited theatrical launch -- even though Netflix's primary motivation behind the purchase is to serve its subscribers.

Is Marvel's Agents of SHIELD already setting up sending two of its main characters off to their own show? Judging by the way March 15th's episode, "The Inside Man," ended, it's easy to see how the ABC series is already separating Bobbi Morse (Adrianne Palicki) and Lance Hunter (Nick Blood) from the core group to establish how they'd spin off on their own adventure, which will eventually (and hopefully) become Marvel's Most Wanted.

Emma Stone and Jonah Hill Starring in TV Comedy Series

Emma Stone and Jonah Hill are set to star in a new, dark comedy TV series with True Detective: Season 1 director Cary Fukunaga at the helm.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the potential series is based on Maniac, a 2014 Norwegian comedy series. Here's an quick synopsis of the original series, courtesy of THR:

"The original Maniac revolves around Espen, a mental patient at the psychiatric ward who escapes reality and lives in a fantasy world in his mind."

Luke Cage Teaser Trailer Released

Netflix's first look at Marvel's Luke Cage is hidden away at the end of Daredevil's second season.

Description for the teaser follows...

The teaser trailer will autoplay once Netflix users finish the final episode of Daredevil. The short clip opens with Cage—played by Mike Colter—in a standoff with a bunch of bad guys who definitely hadn't heard of him before. Cage takes on a hailstorm of bullets, and as expected, they don't do much.

The clip ends with the Luke Cage logo over Nas' "Made You Look." Netflix subscribers can see the clip on the streaming service's website.

Uncharted 4: A Thief's End is finally complete.

The news comes by way of Uncharted 4 and The Last of Us co-director and writer Neil Druckmann on Twitter. The developer also shared an image of his own, early copy of the game. At the same time, Naughty Dog on Twitter posted a picture of the game installing to a PlayStation 4.

Indiana Jones 5 Gets Crystal Skull Writer

Following Disney's announcement that Indiana Jones 5 is indeed happening -- with Stephen Spielberg back to direct and Harrison Ford to star -- the film has now found a writer.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Crystal Skull co-writer David Koepp will once again team up with Spielberg to bring Indy to the big screen.

In addition to penning the script for Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, Koepp worked with Spielberg on a number of other films, including the original Jurassic Park, The Lost World: Jurassic Park and War of the Worlds.

First Telltale Batman Details Revealed

Telltale Games has unveiled the first details of its forthcoming Batman series during a panel at South by Southwest.

The new series will take place in modern-day Gotham, but will not be tied to any existing adaptation of Batman in comics, films, or games. The story will focus on both Bruce Wayne and Batman, with player decisions shaping the city Bruce encounters in daylight, and the criminals Batman encounters at night.

In a followup blog post on the company's site, the premise reads:

"Each night, Bruce Wayne chooses to change Gotham for the better. The team wants to explore what the consequences are of the player’s actions when decisions made as Bruce have a critical impact on his nightly crusade as Batman, and vice versa. Certain key situations will give the player the decision to approach a scene as Bruce or Batman with consequences for both sides."

9.7-inch iPad Pro to Start at $600

Just days before Apple's next media event set to take place on March 21, we may have just learned the starting price for the 9.7-inch iPad Pro the company is expected to unveil during the event.

As reported by 9to5Mac, the smaller iPad Pro model will launch with a starting price of $600 for the 32 GB/WiFi-only model. For a higher, currently unknown price, people can get the 128 GB model, which has WiFi and LTE capabilities.
