BvS Director Confirms New Gods Tech in Cyborg Scene
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice director Zack Snyder has shed light on Cyborg's brief scene in Warner's new comic book flick, hinting at how the superhero's origin story will be fleshed out in the DC Cinematic Universe.
Warning: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice spoilers ahead.
The scene -- in which Ben Affleck's Bruce Wayne and Gal Gadot's Diana Prince break into the secret database that Jesse Eisenberg's Lex Luthor has on other super-powered "metahumans" -- offers a brief glimpse at Dr. Silas Stone's son, a former football star who was gravely injured and, consequently, is missing much of his body.
DC fans know all too well that the character, played by Ray Fisher, will soon go on to become Cyborg, and, speaking to EW, Snyder confirmed that this shot provides "the first glimpse of the Mother Box," with the director noting: "It was an agonizing birth."
NASA Finds Frozen Lake On Pluto
NASA's New Horizons spacecraft has photographed evidence that a lake may have existed on Pluto millions or billions of years ago.
The image was taken on July 14, 2015, but published by NASA last Thursday, and shows details as small as 430 feet.
A post on NASA's website says, "This feature appears to be a frozen, former lake of liquid nitrogen, located in a mountain range just north of Pluto’s informally named Sputnik Planum."
BvS’s Record-Breaking Friday-Sunday Box-Office Drop
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice tore up the box office this past weekend, making $166.1 million domestically and another $254 million in foreign sales for a total take of approximately $420.1 million. These numbers make it the biggest superhero movie opening ever for Warner Bros., the biggest Easter weekend movie in history, and the fifth best opener in North American movie history. But for all those achievements, a new report indicates that the film has also broken a more dubious record.
According to Forbes, Batman v Superman has set a new record for the biggest Friday-to-Sunday box-office drop for a modern superhero movie. The film dipped 55% from its $82 million Friday debut to its $37 million gross on Sunday. To break that down, the grosses declined 38% Friday to Saturday and another 27% from Saturday to Sunday. By comparison, Forbes cites the Fantastic Four reboot’s decline from last summer, which only dropped 48% Friday-to-Sunday.
Explore the Batcave on Google Maps Today
Today on Google Maps you can take a look inside the home of Bruce Wayne.
A search for "Bruce Wayne's Residence" on the service will pull up an address in Orion Charter Township, Michigan. Viewers can take a look at where the Bruce Wayne of Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice spends his downtime.
Though the more interesting material can be found further in. Zooming through the residence reveals the Batcave. Wherein you'll find Batman's suit, equipment, Batmobile, and a whole host of other props from the film.
This is just the latest in a string of Google Maps gags. Earlier this month Street View sported a Legend of Zelda theme alongside the re-release of Twilight Princess.
Gears of War 4 Is Based on Epic Games’ Original Vision
Epic Games, the studio behind Gears of War, very nearly made Gears of War 4.
Game Informer reports that the developer started cooking up the would-be Gears of War 4 while fellow studio People Can Fly worked on Gears of War: Judgment. Apparently, the upcoming Gears of War 4 doesn't completely ignore that game's original vision.
When Microsoft bought the Gears franchise from Epic they passed the series off to The Coalition -- formerly known as Black Tusk Studios.
This is the team now bringing Gears of War 4 to life, using the setting and central protagonist (JD Fenix, son of Gears of War central figure Marcus Fenix) originally envisioned by Epic. Though the new villains -- known as The Swarm -- were "completely changed" during the transition.
Ash Is Here to Party in First Ash vs Evil Dead: Season 2 Pic
Ahead of Ash vs Evil Dead's return this fall, Starz has revealed the first official photo for Season 2.
If the image -- courtesy of TV Insider -- is any indication, fun times are in store for Ash (Bruce Campbell) early on in the show's second season, as he kicks it back in Florida, chainsawing his way through a keg.
Kirby in Robot Armor Is Exactly as Fun as It Sounds
Planet Popstar is under attack from the villainous legions of Haltmann Works Company in Kirby: Robobot Planet, and at WonderCon 2016 Nintendo gave the press a chance to save it. During the convention, IGN got to play the upcoming 3DS Kirby title and try out two demo levels to get a sense of the game.
The first demo level started off simple enough, returning to the classic Kirby feel and echoing the multi-plane mechanics of Kirby: Triple Deluxe. A lot of this normal gameplay will be familiar to longtime Kirby players -- opponents can of course be absorbed or their abilities can be copied, and Kirby needs to navigate both the foreground and the background to defeat enemies, find key items, and progress in the level.

Darth Vader’s solo series has been the best of Marvel’s Star Wars comics -- earning a nomination for IGN’s Best Comic Book Series of 2015 -- and the quality has remained high in the current story arc, The Shu-Torun War. Imagine Darth Vader away from the Empire and the space ships, instead dropped off on the ore-mining planet of Shu-Torun where he is assisting a Queen in a battle to keep power from a greedy council of ore barons. It’s full of tension, insane action scenes (like boarding a hostile lava-submarine), and lots of Game of Thrones-esque drama and deceit.
How Syfy’s Hunters is an Allegory for Terrorism
Debuting April 11th on Syfy, the new series Hunters -- based on Whitley Strieber's Alien Hunter books -- comes from executive producers Natalie Chaidez (12 Monkeys) and Gale Anne Hurd (The Walking Dead).
Check out this new behind-the-scenes video, as Chaidez, Hurd and the cast and crew discuss the series and how its depiction of aliens among us, and a task force trying to take them down, is an allegory for terrorism.
For more on Hunters, check out the show's trailer below, plus interviews with the cast.
Rockstar Games Nearly Made GTA: Tokyo
Rockstar nearly made a Grand Theft Auto set in Tokyo, though now it's too busy working on GTA 6.
Techradar reports the developer made the trip to Japan in order to scout it as a potential setting for a new game. This was around the time of GTA 3 and Vice City. Unfortunately, the plan fell through thanks to the structure of Tokyo streets.
The site's source further says that GTA 6 is currently in development. That's no surprise given that Grand Theft Auto 5 was released more than two years ago, and Rockstar was open about it years ago. Though they added that no setting for the game has yet been nailed down.
