Square Enix Blesses New Fear Effect Kickstarter

There's a new Fear Effect game coming to Kickstarter.

The game is called Fear Effect Sedna, and its crowdfunding campaign is scheduled to launch April 12. French indie studio Sushee is running the project and has the blessing of Fear Effect copyright holder Square Enix.

According to Eurogamer, Fear Effect Sedna was heavily inspired by Harebrained Schemes' Shadowrun Returns (another Kickstarter project).

The inspiration shows in the game's promotional images, which feature a similar top-down perspective. The first pair of Fear Effect games were a third-person shooters in the style of the original Resident Evil games.

Apple’s iPhone SE Supply Can’t Keep Up With Demand

The iPhone SE, which only just launched last Thursday, is now surprisingly hard to acquire.

As reported by Apple Insider, the various models of the 4-inch iPhone are unavailable at Apple’s own retail store, and attempting to buy one from the company’s online store will see many people waiting until April 21 (at the earliest) for their order to ship. If you want free shipping, you’ll have to wait until the week of the April 25.

Sprint models were, at one point, easier to find, but that no longer appears to be the case. Whether trying to pay in full or with a two-year contract through Apple.com, the April 21 ship date remains the same.

LeBron James’ NBA Hoax Movie

LeBron James' new production company Springhill Entertainment is setting up a movie based on a basketball hoax viral video.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Springhill and New Line have acquired the rights to the video from the Elite Daily sports website. James and Madica's Jeff Tahley will produce the feature film, with Maverick Carter and Shawn Sachs executive-producing. Watch the video here:

The original hoax video stars Elite Daily writer Connor Toole, who tricks people into thinking he got drafted by the Utah Jazz in the second round of the NBA draft.

It looks like LeBron will never be too far away from basketball, even in the movie business. As of last summer he's still hoping for a Space Jam 2.

Suicide Squad Reshoots Explained

The cast of Suicide Squad are indeed doing some reshoots right now, but one of the actors says it's just to add some action sequences to the film.

Jai Courtney, who plays Captain Boomerang, told Entertainment Tonight he hadn't heard the report that some Suicide Squad scenes were being re-shot to make them funnier.

When asked, Courtney said, "I think there's plenty of that in it. I wouldn't say we're going back to make it funnier. There's some additional action stuff that we've been doing which is pretty dope, really we're just kind of adding in that sense."

"You can't believe everything you read," Courtney joked.

Harry Potter: How Different is LA’s New Theme Park Location?

The Wizarding World of Harry Potter is now officially open at Universal Studios Hollywood and got an appropriately huge, movie premiere-style event this week to celebrate the long-awaited second US location for the major theme park area, after the one at Universal Studios Orlando opened six years ago. In attendance were Harry Potter movie alums Tom Felton (“Draco Malfoy”), Evanna Lynch (“Luna Lovegood”), Warwick Davis (“Professor Flitwick”) and James Phelps & Oliver Phelps (“Fred & George Weasley”) and the likes of Steven Spielberg, Billy Bob Thornton, Ed O’Neill and many more.

The official kickoff ceremony was incredible to behold. John Williams conducted the LA Philharmonic in a performance of music from the Potter films in front of Hogwarts castle, as truly spectacular images projected onto the castle, including visual depictions of each Hogwarts house (the green snakes circling the towers of the castle during the Slytherin portion was particularly cool) and then animated imagery that made it appear as though the walls of the castle opened up, letting you see the moving staircases and the Great Hall inside, all backed by a big fireworks display.
