Oxenfree PS4 Release Date, New Features Announced

Supernatural teen thriller Oxenfree will launch on PlayStation 4 on May 31, Night School co-founder Sean Krankel announced today.

Oxenfree's New Game+ mode—the "director's cut" of the game—will also release on Steam and Xbox. New content, locations, and dialogue options will add alternate endings for Alex and her friends. After making it through the night on Edwards Island, players have the option of starting New Game+ with "fresh dialogue options and a creeping sense of deja vu."

PlayStation 4 users will be able to use their DualShock 4 controller like Oxenfree's "supernaturally charged" in-game radio. Glowing color changes will sync with radio broadcasts, which will be played through the controller's speaker. A PlayStation 4 dynamic theme will also launch alongside the game. It'll be available as a bundle with the game or on its own.

No Man’s Sky Creator Talks Burnout/Road Rash Reboot

Before Hello Games founder Sean Murray launched his own independent studio, the programmer behind No Man's Sky worked on the Burnout franchise at Criterion. During his time at the studio, there was talk of rebooting Road Rash in the spirit of the popular car-crashing series, but much to Murray's dismay, it never came to fruition.

"It never happened," Murray said on the latest episode of IGN Unfiltered, which airs this Friday. "I think there was a studio that was working on it that was using the Burnout engine. And there was this discussion of a Burnout/Road Rash reboot kind of thing that married the two, which I think would have been awesome."

What The Deadpool 2 Guys Want From Their Cable

The filmmaking team behind Deadpool have been talking about why they want Cable to feature in the forthcoming sequel, and what they are looking for in the actor that will portray him.

Deadpool 2 has just been officially announced, and director Tim Miller says the character will make a great foil for Wade Wilson.

“There’s a lot about Cable’s history that I like because he’s so intertwined with the world of the X-Men” he explained. “Why he was put together with Deadpool – other than that he was in a comic that wasn’t selling well and Deadpool was in a comic that wasn’t selling well so they put them together – it’s the same reason we had Colossus; he’s a straight man. And I think Deadpool needs a straight man. Cable is the ultimate, archetypal, silent, strong and cynical warrior, which Deadpool is not.”

Superhot Xbox One Release Date Revealed

Superhot's release date for Xbox One has been confirmed as May 3.

The time-bending FPS came out for PC earlier this year, and is an Xbox One console exclusive.

Superhot began as a game jam prototype (which you can still play for free), and then went through a successful Kickstarter campaign to become a fully-fledged project.

The core conceit of the game is that time moves only when you move, and one-hit kills work both ways, forcing you think about how to escape a series of seemingly impossibly fatal shootouts.
