Bryan Singer Addresses Apocalypse Backlash
The initial reception to the appearance of Apocalypse, the villain of May 27’s X-Men: Apocalypse movie, was not a positive one, with most people pointing out his laughable resemblance to Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie villain Ivan Ooze.
Then when the trailer let audiences hear his voice for the first time, there was another wave of backlash because it was just actor Oscar Isaac’s unaltered voice instead of an inhuman, godly sound.
On top of all that, comic readers were questioning why Apocalypse was so small. In the source material, he’s a hulking figure as it is, plus he can use his power to grow to King Kong-like proportions.
During an edit bay visit IGN attended with other press, director Bryan Singer addressed these fan concerns.

Jon Snow may have been dead, but Game of Thrones finally confirmed many fans' suspicions when Melisandre revived the Lord Commander in the final moments of "Home."
Knowing that his gasp for air was likely followed by gasps of shock and happiness in TV viewers' homes around the globe, showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss broke down the major moment in this week's "Inside the Episode" segment.
"Davos has no real love lost for Melisandre," said Weiss in the video. "He's seen what she's capable of. He's seen her do many impossible things. He's not a big fan of her god, he's not a big fan of her program, but there's certainly nothing to lose at this point. If it doesn't work, then it doesn't work."
Call of Duty Livestream Announced
Infinity Ward and Activision will reveal the future of Call of Duty on May 2.
The studio will presumably announce Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, this year's installment in the Call of Duty series.

Marvel’s Civil War Has Massive International Debut
Captain America: Civil War was a huge success at the international box office, bringing in $200.2 million on its opening weekend.
The film—which debuts domestically May 6—is expected to have a similarly huge opening weekend in North America. Captain America: Civil War is currently on track to earn $175 million, with some analysts predicting the film could even hit $200 million next weekend.
"They have found a way to keep the films unbelievably fresh and the reception to this leading into its opening suggests that they've delivered arguably one of the best films to come out of the studio," Disney distribution chief Dave Hollis told Variety. "We expect a lot of repeat business."
Ratchet & Clank, Keanu No Match for Jungle Book
Disney's The Jungle Book remained atop the domestic box office for the third consecutive weekend, as Ratchet & Clank and Key and Peele's cat comedy, Keanu, each opened under $10 million USD.
The Jungle Book grossed $42.4 million over the weekend, bringing its domestic total up to $252.1 million.
The live-action take on the classic tale has now grossed $684.8 million worldwide, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
It's expected to be dethroned next weekend when another Disney release, Captain America: Civil War, hits theaters stateside.
Keanu, Key and Peele's first feature film, debuted at $9.35 million, placing it in third place for the weekend just behind The Huntsman: Winter's War's $9.39 million haul.
Person of Interest Creators on an Exciting, Explosive Final Season
On Tuesday, May 3rd, Person of Interest kicks off its final 13-episode run on CBS. Season 5 begins with an action-packed premiere called "B.S.O.D." Mikkelsen Wants to Return to Hannibal ‘Four Years Later’
Hannibal star Mads Mikkelsen is hopeful the cancelled NBC series will return within the next few years, adding "it all depends" on creator Bryan Fuller's interest and schedule.
"He is the key, the base, the heart," Mikkelsen said of Fuller, speaking with Express. "We will wait and see what happens next in his career."
Despite previously stated concerns about how much enthusiasm there'll be for the series in "three or four years," Mikkelsen believes the show could easily continue a few years down the road, thanks to breaks in the original works' stories. "We could pick it up, say, four years later," he said. "If Bryan is up for it, we will all go for it."
New Call of Duty Teaser Warns ‘We Are Your Enemy’
A new teaser for the as-of-yet unofficially named Call of Duty sequel appeared today. Titled "Know Your Enemy," the short video shows a battle-hardened man warning viewers his forces will "tear you from the history books."
"The whole world will bear witness to this: our ascension," he says. What that could mean isn't answered in the slightest during the teaser.
Between this and yesterday's Nuketown easter egg, Activision is ramping up the marketing for an official reveal in the lead-up to E3. Part of the footage from the easter egg shows up in this latest teaser.
Intel on the next Call of Duty has been coming fast and hot recently. A rumored remastered Modern Warfare was all but confirmed through the strategic application of a poop emoji on Twitter. However, details on whether it's the full game or remastered maps haven't been made officially available.
Robert Downey Jr. Open to Returning for Iron Man 4
Is Robert Downey Jr. planning on coming back for another Iron Man movie? The actor offered some hope for fans wanting him back for Iron Man 4 during an interview with ABC's Nightline.
The late night news show ran a package about Captain America: Civil War from a visit to the set of the movie's epic airplane fight sequence. During the video, Robert Downey Jr. said, "I feel like I could do one more."
This is the just latest time Downey Jr. has flipped on the subject. He recently told USA Today Iron Man 4 probably isn't "in the cards," saying Civil War is "my little Iron Man 4." Back in September 2014, Downey Jr. first said there wouldn't be a fourth Iron Man movie, before saying there would be one only a month later.
