Star Wars’ Daisy Ridley Joins New Hamlet Film

Star Wars actress Daisy Ridley will be joining Naomi Watts for a retelling of Shakespeare's Hamlet focused on the royal women.

Ridley will play the title character Ophelia, and the story will explore her romance with Prince Hamlet and her relationship with Queen Gertrude, played by Watts.

The film will be based on the novel by Lisa Klein. Semi Chellas (Mad Men) has adapted it for the screen, and Claire McCarthy (The Waiting City) is attached to direct.

"Ophelia is brimming with youth-fueled charisma, exploring the nature of true love and beauty, and I'm so excited to bring this fresh mythic spin to Hamlet from a female perspective,” McCarthy said in a statement.  “This retelling will be experienced through the eyes of Ophelia and has the kind of romance, complexity and suspense that makes this beloved story exciting to younger audiences."

Avengers: Infinity War 1 and 2 Will Get New Titles

Filmmakers Joe and Anthony Russo are planning to change the names for Avengers: Infinity War - Part 1 and Part 2.

Speaking with Uproxx, the Captain America: Civil War directors said the two films will get title changes sooner than later. "The movies are two very different movies," said Joe Russo, explaining the reasoning for switching things up for the Marvel films.

“It is misleading,” added Anthony Russo, when asked about the current two-part title for Infinity War.

Joe Russo says it's just a matter of time until new names are announced for the films. "The intention is we will change it, we just haven’t come up with the titles yet," he said. "But, yes, we will change it. And, yes, that is a scoop: we will retitle them."

Let's all cross our fingers that he's taken up a side job as a babysitter when he's not reviving killing machines for Cersei.

Check out all the images below:
