Lucas Museum Won’t be Built in Chicago After All

The proposed George Lucas Museum is looking to leave the Windy City.

Chicago Business reports that a statement released by Lucas' wife, Mellody Hobson, casts blame on a local civic group for the museum's decision to pursue other locations. The group, Friends of the Parks, rejected Mayor Rahm Emanuel's proposed site, after previously rejecting its initial proposed location as well.

"My husband and I have worked in earnest for two years, side by side with every relevant city agency, community leader and policy maker to give what would be the largest philanthropic gift to an American city," Hobson said. "From the beginning, this process has been co-opted by a special interest group."

Civil War Directors Believe MCU Will Add LGBT Characters Soon

Captain America: Civil War directors Joe and Anthony Russo believe Marvel's massive success could make it easier for execs to take bigger risks, like adding opening gay characters to the films.

"I think this is a philosophy of Marvel, in success it becomes easier to take risks," Anthony Russo said. "There's a lot of unconventional ideas in Civil War in terms of what people's expectations of a superhero movie are, but I think we were able to do that because Winter Soldier worked."

When asked by Collider whether would see an LGBT character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Joe Russo said "the chances are strong." As filmmakers, Joe Russo added, "it's important on all fronts" to push for diversity so that "storytelling becomes more interesting, more rich, and more truthful."

Dragonball Evolution Screenwriter Apologizes to Fans

Ben Ramsey, the screenwriter responsible for the universally panned live-action Dragon Ball adaptation, Dragonball Evolution, has apologized to fans for his hand in the project.

As reported by i09, when Ramsey was approached for an interview by Dragon Ball fan Derek Padula, Ramsey replied with an apology addressed to the Dragon Ball fandom, which Padula then published in full on his website.

The apology reads:

I knew that it would eventually come down to this one day. Dragonball Evolution marked a very painful creative point in my life. To have something with my name on it as the writer be so globally reviled is gut wrenching. To receive hate mail from all over the world is heartbreaking. I spent so many years trying to deflect the blame, but at the end of the day it all comes down to the written word on page and I take full responsibility for what was such a disappointment to so many fans. I did the best I could, but at the end of the day, I ‘dropped the dragon ball.’

Rumor: Guardians of the Galaxy Ride Coming to Disneyland

Rumors are swirling that Disney is planning to overhaul The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror at Disneyland Resort's California Adventure park into a Guardians of the Galaxy ride.

MiceAge is reporting that Disney will do away with the Twilight Zone connection and storyline and give the attraction a Guardians of the Galaxy makeover, focusing on The Collector from the Marvel film. Allegedly, the company is expected to close the Tower of Terror this fall and reopen the new ride in May in conjunction with the opening of the new movie, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.

Backing up that report is SlashFilm, though it's hearing things a bit differently. For example, one of their sources said the Guardians of the Galaxy ride isn't about The Collector and that the attraction's storyline will instead revolve around the prison breakout segment from the first film.

Wrestling Wrap Up: Roman Sends AJ Through a Table

Big week in the "New Era" of WWE. A label that stings like a bug bite every time Cole says it as he's basically the voice of the era most of us loathe.

And look, I'm hesitant to criticize all that's going on right now (I know!) simply because there's so much of it that I actually like. Like AJ Styles being in the world title picture, Zayn and Owens being able to deliver a "Match of the Year" candidate performance on a WWE PPV, Gallows and Anderson being main eventers so quickly...there's a lot of "F***in A!" here. Sometimes I actually have to take a step back from the product and just marvel at how many things have shifted in favor of the hardcore super-consumer fans in the wake of WrestleMania. It's almost as if the post-'Mania RAW booking has continued to some extent. Even though some of the crowd roar has died down. And Sasha hasn't been on TV in weeks (*sob* *dies from death*).
